Taylour House and its owner Caroline are just Fabulous …. Caroline was fast in replying, really helpful and welcoming … our arrival time changed to being when it was dark and she’d popped back to the property to turn some lights on so we weren’t fumbling around - so thoughtful. The house was excellent - my partner and I were hosting friends for my 50th so we had a sit down lunch in the beautiful dining room which comfortably sits 8 and also played quiz games in the lounge which is lovely and spacious. Everyone agreed the beds were absolute bliss to sleep in. I made enquiries about another property on this site and had such a contrast in comms from the owner I’m so happy I went with my gut and booked with Caroline - hopefully we will find a reason to return! THANK YOU CAROLINE FOR MAKING YOUR HOUSE AVAILABLE AND SUCH WONDERFUL PLACE YO STAY XX

Excellent b&b, with a great host. Lovely Big room with a big comfy bed. Large bathroom with a great shower. Sharon was a great host & cooked a great breakfast. Everything about this b&b is impressive, in a beautiful location. The whole property is absolutely spotless & my wife & I will definitely be returning.

The accommodation was well equipped and very comfortable. Bedrooms were spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The property was only a few minutes walk from the Lough. A supermarket was also a few minutes walk away. Portaferry is a lovely town and the ferry allows easy access to Strangford.

Beautiful Edwardian house, restored by current owners. Everything geared towards making your stay comfortable with lots of attention to detail. Bed really comfy, & breakfast exceptional.

Unfortunately we had a very bad experience with the staff on duty that evening and this was taken up with management the following morning. Our complaint was handled well and we came to a suitable resolution . The room we were allocated was nothing like the pictures on the booking site and we were disappointed in the room especially considering the cost

The main building is beautiful and some of the staff are absolute amazing. The surroundings are incredible.

There is an issue with cleanliness in communal areas. Walking into the public loo as they have a very mandatory 3pm check in, well I had to skip 2 loos because of what was smeared in the bowl. Going for a walk on the river I had to put my dog poo bag on a bin in the hotel grounds. Gross. On Saturday night we went to the one comfy seat available and there was pizza all over the area. Some of the staff really let this place down. Training issues. The decor makes me sad. Such an amazing location and the main building is gorgeous but they have stuck in Novotel chic. Utter disaster. A tragedy. The spa is needing a spruce and the photos are deceiving.

No instruction at all. Could not work TV. Could do with a broom/brush to be able to sweep floor. No instruction of how to operate shower. A bin would be good as no place to put rubbish.

The room was smelly There were two cups in the room one had been used by the previous guest and not cleaned. There wasn’t any tea bags plenty of coffee etc.( my wife loves a cup of tea)The manager wasn’t very apologetic when we mentioned the issues . I would like to add two more issues that my wife reminded me of when we went down for dinner when we had finished the first course we asked for the dessert menu we waited and waited it never appeared eventually we just walked out. The two chairs in our room were ripped.
