The view from the cottage and the garden were beautiful. Such a quiet and peaceful location that you can properly relax in. The small sun room was perfect when cold or wet, and to see the red squirrel. We put out nuts and it came by around 8am several times. The cottage is well equipped and the beds are comfy. There is a good size parking space. There is a small post office and shop in the village with basic essentials. It takes cash only, but you can take cash out at the post office (when it's open)

The only thing that let the cottage down was cleanliness. It wasn't terrible, but we did do some cleaning on arrival to feel comfortable. The showers had mold in (thankfully we brought some mold and mildew spray which made the main shower better). And a better general clean down would be good. There was dirt on the leather sofa (which we saw both on the sofa and on the wipes we used to clean it down), and the drinks coasters had brown stains on, for example. The washing up brush was a discoloured and we didn't want to use it. The house could also do with a bit of love, a few rusty old radiators could be replaced for example.

Location was incredible! Paul was incredibly helpful with pointing me in the direction of nice walks and things to do in the evening. Accommodation was just what I was looking for and facilities and breakfast were 10/10.

The coffee machine is always available for you which is very nice but after breakfast it's always out of cream/milk and no sugar so kinda pointless.

It’s a pub, it’s in Manchester, the staff are excellent.
Negative section of review
Because it’s a pub the out of hours access is by steep stairway.

Nice old buildings, Beautiful area.

Poor staff don’t know what they’re doing. I feel sorry for them because either they have zero common sense or they are not being trained. Usually crap service is a lack of training! The spa was average, considering as guests we still had to pay to use it. Not enough loungers, things not working or broken. Not which spa appointments to fulfill customer ness
