We had a lovely stay in Archie's cottage. Chris was a great host, checking all was well and asking if we needed anything. The cottage was immaculate and very cosy. We enjoyed having a drink on the patio in the evening and enjoyed all the sights in Lincoln, especially the cathedral which looks over the city!

Excellent location. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Beautiful old building, lots of history. Nice pub with a good choice of drinks and a lovely big courtyard. The room was clean and had all the facilities you needed. Tea tray was topped up with milk, tea, etc. Excellent value for money

The grounds that the hotel is situated within are lovely with a selection of rare trees and plants, we had a cosy double room and it was just that, cosy. Breakfast was nice and the front desk and maid were very welcoming and friendly.

There wasn't much to dislike. However it wouldn't hurt the service staff at breakfast to smile a bit although they were very professional.

I arrived quite late in the evening and was quite tired but received a very warm welcome from the staff. I was spending some time in Harrogate to do a spa day at the Turkish Baths and then I was planning to see a friend in Stockport.

There was nothing I didn't like. The staff were very helpful helping me with parking the car and generally getting settled. The hotel was very clean comfortable and the dinner in the restaurant was lovely.

The shower was pretty much unusable, alternating between freezing cold and scalding hot despite trying everything.

The room was dirty on arrival. There was unflushed feces in the toilet and hair in the bath- evident that it had not been cleaned. Comsidering it was a no window room- i expected air conditioning, but the AC did not work , there wasn’t even a dial on the device. It got way too warm and we felt very uncomfortable all night, didn’t get any sleep. the location of the hotel was in a back alleyway surrounded by rubbish, and the corridors stunk of urine.
