Great little pine chalet in quiet countryside 10 mins drive from Tain and 15 mins walk from Portmahomock. Cosy bedroom, lounge with tv, bathroom with roomy electric shower and kitchen diner with microwave, fridge, induction hobs, kettle and coffee machine. Everything you need for a self catering break. Ideally placed for Tain or walking the coastal path to Tarbet Ness. Super peaceful at night. Reminded us of a traditional Norwegian hytter.

Location beautiful, very peaceful, made for some very good nights sleep! Able to walk down through fields to the river area. Sitting area outside the holiday homes was lovely and beautifully kept. Games room an added bonus! Also yummy cake left for us by Dolly for our arrival.

All perfect

Everything - clean and a nice shower - we loved our little room with a lemon tree outside. We especially liked the goodies they provided for tea/coffee/chocolate. Very nice easy going and accommodating staff - thank you! We look forward to returning!

It was somewhat unstraightforward how to check in should you arrive when the owner/caretaker had gone home and you could not find anyone. Maybe leave some information outside for such cases? But all was well!

Room comfy and good layout, nice very attentive staff. Good Dinner and Breakfast next morning. Due to the location it's very quiet at night. Would stay here again.

Nothing at all really.

The indoor pool was great - good temperature and not too crowded. The outdoor pool was stunning and a joy to swim in. Beds were comfortable with decent linen.

Changing rooms were in a poor state of repair and the shampoo/body wash dispensers were empty on a couple of occasions. In our apartment the decor was dated and tired. On arrival I had to weed and sweep the balcony, which was a first for me! We had no hot water, but went to the leisure area to shower. Probably the most disconcerting thing was that we were put on the third floor - my 87 year old Mum was a bit concerned but managed, bless her!

Excellent location just yards from town centre, lovely clean apartment and excellent value for two bedrooms.

Dont try and park outside apartment, lane is tight and you need to reverse out, no room to turn car round Few more utensils in kitchen would be good and maybe a few essentials like salt etc

- Good location, near famous attractions - Good communication from the hosts before check in

- My parents stayed here for a long weekend getaway. Having never visited Edinburgh before, it would have been nice had there been a visitor guide/welcome pack with tips on where the local amenities are (note: there may have been one in the apartment, but my parents didn't find it in the 4 days that they were here so it wasn't easily accessible if so). - The process to get into the apartment was an ordeal in itself as there are numerous lock boxes involved and a triple lock. Not super easy to use. - There was no tea/coffee at the apartment. Whilst I appreciate this wasn't on the listing, I have never visited anywhere where this isn't provided and I have travelled all over the world. - The apartment was not clean by any stretch of the imagination. There was a sticky residue on the floor in the kitchen. White socks turned black within a matter of minutes. Shower was not clean - soap scum and hairs everywhere. The drain was slow to remove water from the shower so potentially needs a deep clean down the drain. - No clear info on how to access Wifi. - Sofa cushion covers were filthy. It looked like someone had been sick on the cushion and instead of cleaning it properly, the cushion had just been flipped. Disgusting. - Upon leaving the apartment, my mum stripped off the bedding to make it easier for the cleaner to come in and change the sheets and the duvet insert was grim and needed replacing immediately. - Spent around £500 for the stay and it was a complete rip off for the price paid.

Very friendly helpful staff. Good food, and excellent value for money. Ideal.
Positive section of review
Very handy for town and beach, pleasant outlook from rooms.
Negative section of review
Kitchen knives all too blunt to use-need to be replaced, could find no instructions about electric heating, bed was rather too bouncy for comfort, almost all accommodation these days has fairly firm beds.

Checking out.

Having to pay for WiFi, always been free in other hotels I've stayed in. No car park, uncomfortable bed, food very bland,
