was just a bed for the night but a lovely comfy bed with a proper mattress not a cheapy caravan one

shame it doesn't have a balcony

The room was small and perfectly functional, but was looking a little 'tired'

The staff and the room were very nice. Comfortable and clean with a great shower.

Walls are paper thin! I could hear the next doors TV blasting out until late. Had to bang on the walls to get them to turn it down/off as they had clearly fallen asleep and their snoring was cataclysmic!!

Location. Close to Harlow Carr and easy access to Harrogate

Breakfast. Too rigid in selection. Am used to having choice of cereal including muselli or granola and choice of fruit. Not choice of basic cereal and a whole orange or apple. Also would have expected to be able to have cereal, a choice of cooked breakfast with toast as a standard inclusive breakfast. It felt limited and certainly not generous. Lacked customer focus

Lovely clean room, breakfast was lovely

Chairs in the breakfast bar could be less stained but that is not the hotel's fault but rather the people who do not wipe their hands on napkins which are provided by the way

It’s in a great location

We booked 2 rooms - a twin and a triple. They gave us a quadruple family room instead of the triple, in the basement. This was a large room and seemed good but it got really hot into the evening. It has aircon but it wouldn’t go any lower than 19 and said not to go below 22 on a separate one which didn’t seem to work anyway. None of us could sleep as it felt hotter than a heatwave down there. The windows opened onto a courtyard where they do their laundry so we didn’t open them initially in case it was noisy but we had to in the end, which made it cooler and wasn’t noisy. I don’t know what it would have been like if we’d had the triple like we’d booked. The twin room was on the 2nd floor and was also very hot but the occupants didn’t find it as bad and slept ok. That was a very narrow room. It was a big shame as we stayed there because of the train strikes so we could travel more easily the next day but it meant we were all very overtired for our trip. And as per other reviews, very dated but this was the least of our issues.

Location is fantastic.

Windows are nailed shut so it was roasting hot in the room. The bed was like sleeping on a brick and the pillows were not much better. Flush on the loo wasn't great. "Grilled" bacon was swimming in oil and was under cooked. Scrambled egg was an egg cracked in the pan and beaten up, not actual Scrambled egg.

The location was good.
Negative section of review
The floor in room 2 was on a slight slant and the bed /mattress was poor.

They was poo in the toilet, bird feathers everywhere. So much dust and grease on taps and sides was a horrible smell
