Location is idyllic near the medieval centre of Canterbury and flanked by plenty greenery lawns and mature trees and generous parking. The main core of the hotel has fine gothic Abbey architectural characterful features. The classic traditional bedrooms are warm, comfortable fresh and bright, with opening windows in many, good for sleep quality. However the hotel is being refurbished and I fear the viridian, wood panel theme while attractive in the modern foyer parts of the hotel fails aesthetically in the bar areas.
Negative section of review
The bar areas which had the potential to be a fine characterful nucleus of the hotel has been rendered in shiny plasticy viridian panelling with cheap gaudy gimmicky lights that evoke a disney esque curio rather than the once fine gothic wood panelled rooms I remembered from previous stays. Sad to see these historic spaces rendered so fake and soulless. Missing too are the fires, big empty spaces now left in their places, and lack of focal point of warmth, and absent too any attractive, comfortable furnishings. The entire area is always dead as it is now devoid of any ambience driving guests away from the hotel for this.... which is such a waste as the bar could be so inviting if reconfigured with any flair. Poor choice of beers and wine... why not have at least a few quality red wines and good craft beers The morning coffee drab, dull beans in evidence.

Amazing location (right next to the Tower of London and close to local amenities, public trasport), superb breakfast, jacuzzi, steam sauna. Very friendly and respectful staff (Negin, two other ladies at the check-in desk, Constantin, and the Chinese gentleman at the breakfast desk). Excellent value for money—I would recommend it to everyone for sure! It exceeded my expectations compared to other hotels with similar facilities!

The location of the property is completely fake. On the map it seems at South Kensington but it is in Earl’s Court. They didn’t send me correct post code even after booking I had to call them and wait for the post code. Other think is there is no insulation between the upper floor. If someone walk you can understand where they are exactly it is that level. On the other hand there was hot water problem. I ask for help but they did nothing and I sorted by myself. It was the worst staying experience I have ever had.
