Some areas look nice. Some staff are really friendly. Hot water ran out in the morning, so no hot showers. No vegan provision at all, and staff do not do anything to resolve this. Photos on Booking.com do not look anything like the double room booked. Disappointing

The first room, which claimed to be a Deluxe Double (!) was very poor. You could not walk around the bed. It was definitely not 4 star. I had to pay quite a bit extra to get a room where both people could get out of the bed without waking each other. By the look of the reviews below, people often end up having to upgrade and pay more, to get a room anything close to 4 star! After paying extra for the new club room it was better but there was an overflow of rainwater outside the window which dripped all night and day which was like some sort of water torture. The bed was hard and uncomfortable too. Despite letting you know in advance that we are vegan no provision was made in the room for alternative milk and tiny chocolate alternatives etc. that you provide for non-vegans! We ended up going to a shop to buy our own milk for use within the room, as reception just said no we don't have anything else! We asked for the room to be serviced after the first night, yet no additional white sugar was provided for tea for the second day. There was no equivalent vegan provision for breakfast. It was very much that’ll do with no thought or changes made to support guests who have different needs. Also it was very noisy. Our room was under the dining room and the noise level on that last morning was really bad. There was no heating in the bathroom so it was like an ice cave with no radiator and no window to extract steam. To top all of this off, on check out on our last day, we were asked by a lady receptionist if I would leave a review and mention her name specifically despite never having had any contact with her before, or even seen her before! That felt highly inappropriate and disingenuous. I did not appreciate that request at all - not least because this was done in front of staff we had been in contact with during our stay and who were very kind and friendly. The audacity of her to have asked for this at all, but worse, in front of them, was extremely bad form.

Staff were extremely friendly and relaxed but efficient. Security staff extremely vigilant without ruining the relaxed atmosphere, property is beautiful, excellent value for money, well located and very cosy

The staff were good and attentive. They seemed to be genuinely interested in the guest. Good communication from the Hotel in advance to a car parking question. The room was ready early for occupation.

The Hotel is set in an odd location with industrial units. Though this didn’t impact my stay. The room, while clean was a bit tired. On a Sunday, my stay, the restaurant closed at 4.00, the bar at 6.00 and there was no breakfast available on Monday morning.

The room we were in was not like the rooms advertised. They obviously took photos of their best rooms.The hotel looked tired inside and out and needed a good update. Our room was small, and the view overlooked rooftops. There was a vent outside the window that had smoke or steam coming out that came straight into the window, so we had to have it closed all the time. For £30 a night, dont expect too much .Not somewhere we would stay in again.
