We really, really wanted to love this apartment and give it a good review. The location is ideal overlooking the bay and within easy walking distance of all the amenities you could wish for. It was thoroughly well presented and equipped with everything you would need for a stay, including fresh milk on arrival. Parking was easy. We were offered a reserved space at the rear of the apartment, but we were able to find a space right outside the door and seasonal parking restrictions meant that we could stay there till 11 o’clock the next morning.

The flat itself presents as cosy and attractive, but there were one or two downsides which we need to comment on. The first impression was not good on entry. There was a strange odour which the air purifiers and diffusers did little to mask. Maybe all right for those who could tolerate it, but no good at all for anyone asthmatic. There was also some concern about the electrics. Bedside sockets were adapters fixed to the wall and one of the sockets in the bathroom was loose. Most concerning of all, however, was the fact that the bathroom sink unit had come slightly away from the wall and the tap and connectors appeared rather loose. Inadvertently, leaning on it might well have caused the whole structure to collapse. There are steps down to the bathroom and we had to leave the light on at night so that they did not present a hazard. That apart, communication from the owner was quick and efficient, and the price charged represented good value for money.

Excellent location, superb house with excellent facilities, everything absolutely perfect, homely and welcoming. We’ve been coming to Cowes for a while and out of all the properties we have stayed in, this has been the best ever and we plan to book this regularly for our charity Autism on the Water’s events in Cowes.

There’s literally nothing not to like! It’s just perfect all round. The only slight critic was the bed slats on the double bed kept coming undone.

Very welcoming atmosphere, staff were lovely, everything was clean and tidy. The area was stunning! Keys were in the door on arrival for us to just get settled in ourselves which was lovely. The food and drinks at the bar & restaurant were great.

One night stopover on a long journey. Long Preston has a main A road running through it but you were soon away from that into lovely countryside. Everything was fine. Clean. Breakfast good.

Bedsheet was stained with something, possibly blood but not sure for certain. They do offer scrambled, fried or poached eggs, but when asked if they could do boiled eggs I was told no.
