Friendly welcoming staff. Handy for the Scillionian III boat to the Scilly Isles. Breakfast was good. Room had all the essentials. The Swordfish doesn't do evening meals but there are options within walking distance both ways.

A bit noisy from the outside tables of drinkers below but it stopped about 11 ish both nights we stayed there so that's fine. It's a pub, you expect that! Parking is limited nearby, great if you can get a place in Duke St Car Park just round the back and currently free after 4pm & you can pre pay for the morning so you don't have to rush out of breakfast..

Rooms were very nice. Comfortable and clean. We were upgraded to 2 suites of rooms with superking beds from 1 kingsize and 1 twin bedroom which was definitely a bonus. Room service breakfast was great.

Some of the staff didn't seem to know what they were doing which was quite uncomfortable at first. The amount of water provided was poor (especially for the weather). Rooms weren't as immaculate as I would have liked. We asked for our rooms to be close by. it would have been better if in our circumstances if they had upgraded us to 1 suite and a bedroom closer.

Nothing. We loved it.

Room was clean and staff was helpful. Hotel is close to old town like 15-20 mins by foot and there are plenty of pubs, restaurants and cafes nearby.
Negative section of review
Hotel is not offering socket adapter for people coming outside of UK. Therefore you need to bring your own socket adapter or need to buy in Edinburgh. Also doors shut noisy whenever someone is passing by, it is troublesome during the night.

Convenient location Linen and bathroom were very clean Property was well lit

WiFi did not work Very basic set up in room — bedside lamp on a chair, 2 usable plug points. Only one window could be opened/one fan from a corner of the room was not adequate (granted that very hot days are few and far between in the UK) Early/late access was through the back of a bar which was cluttered with supplies
