Positive section of review
Having access to community dining, laundry and lounge was convenient and enjoyable. While the location of Ravenglass was a little isolated with no towns of note and absence of amenities the actual Muncaster Castle made up for it. The gardens were an absolute delight - even in the rain with very damp ground. It was one of the very few countryside or garden areas we heard birdlife. The bird shows were fabulous presented by friendly and knowledgeable staff.

I had assumed Ravenglass was close to the lakes district and so was disappointed with the distance to anywhere else of note. The castle grounds made up for that.

Helpful staff, printed our flights off, great. Location, lovely walk to town , breakfast good, beautiful grounds, quiet ,only birdsong sounds , windows opened , beautiful old building

We loved the pictures we saw on here but when we arrived we were amazed at how big it was and the rooms were beautiful also it wasn’t far from town

We had to wash all cutlery and glasses as they all had food and stains on them, also we couldn’t lie on the grass to sun bathe as it hadn’t been cut. Not a massive deal but better to mention

To be honest we just needed to turn the heating off as it was too warm, but the owners came once we messaged and we managed to turn it off.

As smoker they do not have smoking area. Told me to smoke outside the front. Expected breakfast to be buffet like I had in other hotels. Asked for toiletries but they said they do not have.
