The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.

When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.

After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

The room was wonderful. Clean, spacious, beautifully decorated, bed was comfortable and bathroom was clean and warm. We loved the attention to little details, like the fresh flowers, the books/magazines, the water, coffee/tea and snacks available in the room and all around the property. Though facing the street, the room was quiet with a beautiful view. The Hill House is situated on a ..hill!..so, in order to get there, you need to walk up the hill (or drive/take a bus), but it is well worth it for the view on top and all the other interesting places and stores to discover along the way. Make sure to explore and go even higher up the hill, you will not regret it. The owners were very nice and friendly, as well as their 2 dogs :).

When we arrived, there was nobody at the property to let us in (we were not aware and we didn't receive any message with instructions on how to get in) but we called and Alex (the owner) guided us on how to enter and told us there was a system error and the wrong message was sent, instead of the one containing the codes. He apologized many times and was very sorry for the error. We understand this can happen so it wasn't really a big issue, especially since he answered the phone right away and at the same time sent us the correct email with instructions, so communication was great. - the only thing I was missing was a recipient in the bathroom to hold the toothbrush and paste.

I liked the breakfast, especially that juice and fruit/berries was very generous and the overnight oats was also lovely. The chicken pie for dinner was fantastic! I also appreciated the coffe machine a lot, being a Swede and everything :-). I also loved that everthing was so clean and fresh and cosy, I felt really looked after. All members of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The view was amazing. Lovely that dogs were allowed in the bar. Everything went smoothly with the wifi, so I was able to work without problems. I really appreciated the location, close to the university and the hill with the Wallace monument, queit and peaceful, still easy to get to Stirling. I hope I come back one day!

We had a really lovely stay at Harriet House - we only wish that we could have stayed for longer! Paul & Heidi were very welcoming and the breakfast was exceptional. Room was very comfortable, parking very convenient, shower had good pressure, everything we could have wanted for our stay in Canterbury.

Very poor cushions in bedroom. Asked for a softer replacement and was told you only have one type of pillow. For this reason, I would choose another hotel in future, which is a shame.
