Positive section of review
Smartly presented hotel with good views to the sea and town of Swanage. Style is conservative with a small "c". My single room was smallish but nicely equipped with a comfortable bed and good bathroom. Common areas are nice and roomy with good views. About a mile's walk from the centre of Swanage with a bit of a climb, but much nearer to the beach. Held my luggage for me during the day.

1. Check-in; The checkin in process was not quite worth the money spent for the booking. There was a long line of people checking in because of the inflexibility of the 4 pm check in Some frustrated people as their rooms were not ready at 15:50 and was asked to stand aside until 4 pm… No welcome drinks or smiles welcoming upon entry of the hotel 2. Apartment: The fridge was dirty not wiped thoroughly The sleeper couch felt very unstable and unsafe 3. Restaurant Dust pile up in the corner seat /cubicle we had reserved for my husband’s 40th. I had that it was a special occasion and no effort from the waiters to wish my husband a happy birthday or a simple gesture to acknowledge this. We asked the waiter what they would recommend she mentioned the shank but when asked what it’s served with replied she’s new and doesn’t really know anything. We had to keep looking for assistance, the restaurant was empty and not sure why they were all at the one end of the restaurant leaving us to request for desert menu’s, drinks or salt & pepper 4. Breakfast Procedure That an absolute joke! This is supposed to be a luxurious experience but rather stressful as the restaurant is small and are told to have breakfast early? On holiday? Who does that? Maybe consider adding the limited breakfast options to room service. Horrible scrambled eggs please rethink how this is made! 5. Staff The staff in general from the restaurant were the unfriendly and unhelpful staff I have come across at a restaurant to date
