  The staff were very polite and friendly. It was dog-friendly. Breakfast was overall very good with generous portions. The situation was great and close enough for a walk into Hathersage. Also on bus route to Sheffield which was very useful for us.

  Other guests were a bit noisy on one occasion overnight, perhaps it would help to have signs reminding all guests to behave considerately!

  The properties either side are a bit run down but inner you close your front door it’s lovely . Would be nice if you put a little bench in the front to sit on.

  Pros: Great location, lovely living area with smart tv and comfortable beds.

  Cons: the bathroom was filthy, the floor in particular, it smelt horrific and as there is no window it was impossible to air out. The kitchen cabinets were also filthy. Clearly sub standard cleaning staff or I suspect not enough time give to cleaning staff to turn the place over to an appropriate standard. I would not recommend given the lack of cleanliness. I also find the deposit situation odd.

  Very noisy from traffic as facing St Andrew square, despite double glazing . No fridge in room, no safe in room. Room was tiny despite claiming to be a Queen. Continental breakfast only, this wasn’t stated at time of booking.
