The breakfast was served in a clean and bright area. A good selection of breakfasts to choose from full English, omelettes, egg benedictine and porridge with maple syrup and toasted pecans, to pork & leak sausage with bacon sandwich. All the the staff were very polite and friendly. The Hope and Anchor has been a beautifully restored property, serving a great selection of beers and wines, also an excellent selection of meals. A five minutes walk from the town centre. Would recommend to family and friends.
Negative section of review
Only two negatives the room that we stayed in the wash basin was very small, and the key hole was not set correctly which made it rather frustrating trying to unlock and lock the door.

Room was better than expected Unfortunately with a cooked help yourself breakfast the food can be sitting quite a while. Luckily I had freshly delivered fried eggs but bacon was a bit dry but it was okay and they had run out of honey on the previous day.
Negative section of review
it was more than I expected so nothing not to like.

Pleased with the cleanliness of the apartment and the responsiveness of the host. Parking was easy and less than a 2 min walk, good value for money. Stayed for work, the host knew the area well and recommended places to visit.

Very minor things - no clear signs for reception & checking in. The car park can be full. Child's hand prints on door mirror in the room.

Charming & historic, the room with exposed oak beams & uneven walls was comfortable, quiet & airy. It’s a fantastic location & great for city strolls.

Loo seat was wobbly & lurched alarmingly when sat on.

Breakfast not available until 7am which is too late for me.

Obviously the hotel is having a refit but the first room allocated to me had not been finished, wardrobe incomplete so no where to hang clothes.

Too expensive. Location was good.
Negative section of review
Beds very uncomfortable full of springs seemed worn out. Bathroom floor grubby poor lighting in bathroom. Room felt sweaty very humid. Lack of sockets and radiator dirty. Dog charge was to much.
