The house is very well appointed and really comfortable, with lovely hosts who made us feel really welcome. The location is fab - right in the middle of the countryside and only one minute from the super Streamvale farm.

Outstanding views, very remote and the food was top quality. Staff were all very friendly and it was a very relaxing stay. Good base to explore the area and the drive from Fort Augustus to the hotel was spectacular.

The rooms were a little dated and the bar could have stayed open a little later, closing at 10pm every night apart from Sundays which was 8.00pm. Given it is 12 miles to the nearest village with any facilities there was not much else to do!! You had to book dinner the night before or miss out with only crisps to buy, which we found out one night. The rooms were not cleaned/beds made or restocked during our 4 night stay but these are just observations, none of it spoilt our stay.

The room size is good and the room was nice and cool as it was warm outside , bed was comfortable and good sized bathroom .

When booking I specified a twin room as travelling with daughter , on arrival I was allocated a king room , staff said that they could split the bed but could not do it until we left the room in the evening to attend a concert nearby ! Was not comfortable with someone being in our room with our personal belongings so decided to leave the room as it was, I booked a superior room with a river view and specified 3 times in correspondence that it had to be a twin room , it was advertised as a twin room and upon arrival at the hotel was told that none of the superior rooms with river view are twins , this is false advertising on the part of booking.com .

Every thing in the apartment was cluttered and very worn out, but the bed was appalling, it was broken, squeaked constantly and was so slumped that the two of us couldn’t sleep in it, so I chose the sofa bed, which was also broken and impossible to sleep on, so all beds were unfit for purpose, as it was all sloped and uneven. As for the toilet seat, it was broken, and was mentioned in reviews from months before, so not a recent thing. If you want to use the washing machine, there is no way to dry clothes, no dryer, rack or line, so we had to get up early to go to the coin op laundry. No plug for the sink, no can opener despite a can of baked beans included for breakfast needing one, oven seal was hanging off, and wifi didn’t work until the host brought a different modem. In all, unless you have no choice at all, don’t go here, it’s not worth any money.

Dog hair on the sofa. Was very dirty, not recommended for 4 adults to sleep in as only 1 double bed and a single bed. Sofa bed was covered by a dirty blanket full of dog hair and cushions. Was booked for me and my bridesmaids the night before my wedding and totally ruined the night before vibe. Manager did come and clean and offered us a refund but as bank holiday everywhere booked so had to stay. Was very disappointed it happened the night before my wedding day as put a dampener on everything.
