Lovely, quiet, semi rural location and the Loft was beautifully equipped with quality linen and furnishings. The bed was very comfortable and all areas were spotlessly clean. Once we’d worked out how to operate the multifunction oven and found the ovenware in the drawer below, we were good to go, especially as our host had kindly provided a bottle of wine to welcome us! The compact kitchen had everything we needed. There’s an excellent Sainsbury’s a couple of miles away for self catering, along with a Tesco Express nearby. The free internet was excellent, helping us to plan our days out, and the apartment is ideally situated for exploring Battle and all the National Trust properties in the area, along with Rye, Hastings, etc. We really enjoyed our short break staying at Swallow’s Loft.

My husband struggled a bit with the sharply sloping ceilings, including in the shower.

The room was beautiful and nicely renovated, while keeping with the historic aspect of the property. It appears that there are many places to tuck away and to enjoy quiet time, which was a plus. We hope to be back during the work week to be able to fully experience what the proper has to offer.

It appeared that the venue was a bit short staffed, as there were many things that were left out in the open and not cleaned up, especially in the outdoor space. However all staff were very courteous throughout out the entire stay.

Large, well appointed room in old part of house. Fabulous grounds/ gardens to walk round. Good choice breakfast but buffet style so not very hot. Easy parking. We got a very good deal, paying no more than we would at a premier inn for a much superior hotel.

No bed side lights & no table/ shelf on one side of the bed. Despite there being subdued lighting underneath the wash basin, it was not independent to the very bright spot lights in the bathroom. This meant use of the bathroom at night there was no 'night light' & it was too bright. WARNING! Roads into & out of site are single track with passing places. We didn't have a problem, but could be at busy times.

Quiet location, close to seafront, good facilities, really excellent breakfast, friendly hosts, plenty of hot water for a shower too.

I really dislike rolling news on the TV. It's like being in the reception area of an office. Detracted from my breakfast on the first day. On the second day, I asked if it was OK to put Radio 3 on. No problem. Much nicer. You can't beat classical music to give a calming atmosphere.
