Positive section of review
The location was the highlight of this property. It was within easy walking distance to the Royal Mile and other attractions such as the National Museum of Scotland. There are several supermarkets and restaurants and other food options available in close proximity. WIFI worked consistently.

As a solo traveller I found the building itself a little unsettling. The entrance is drab and unclean. Lots of loud (sometimes shouting) male voices around the apartment at night. I didn't expect several flights of stairs down into my apartment which made dealing with luggage difficult. This should have been made clear in the promotional information. Several times there was rubbish left in the entrance and a very dodgy looking couch in the middle of one of the landings. A noisy car ramp outside the bedroom is used by other residents of the building at alll hours. Three different security codes were required to access the room. Very noisy water heater whenever the taps turned on. Unfortunately, there was no hot water for my stay in either the shower, bathroom tap or kitchen. Not pleasant for early May. Space was Ok for one person, but would be a squeeze for a family.

The staff were amazing and even gave me a free upgrade as it was my birthday. The rooms were soooooo cool, quirky and clean. The entire building inside is so cool and quirky. Jacuzzi bath, amazing products, black robes and slippers and the decor is so nice.

Gym needs more weights. Bed could have been slightly more comfortable but everything was amazing.

Very friendly staff who really made you feel welcome. Nice drop off area in front of the hotel. Rooms where clean, neat and tidy.

It would have been nice to have been pre informed that the lifts were out of action and have been for a while according to some of the staff. In addition although the hotel says it has parking it is very small, not just the number of spaces but also the size of the spaces so if you have a larger vehicle you are really going to struggle to park. Saying that there is a public car bark not far away.

The food was hitty missey for Monday and Tuesday but great Tuesday night. The staff were very friendly and helpful
