We chose to stay just outside Whitby, having struggled to find somewhere in the centre with ground floor access and parking adjacent given I have mobility issues. Although not wheelchair accessible (it didn’t claim to be) it was perfect for us with minimal and deep steps. A short taxi ride only into the centre which was spot on. Rooms were spotless and spacious and the breakfast was divine. It’s clear that time and effort goes into making the place clear and a tray is left outside each room for you to leave dirty boots so we assumed this was popular with walkers. Really friendly hosts who couldn’t do enough for us. We visited the Hare and Hounds pub 5 mins walk away (not the best surfaces for wheelchairs to get there) and the food there was amazing with huge portions although not cheap. Great for a treat.

Bed was supersize which was great but the pillows were thin. I’m sure more would have been provided if we’d asked so that’s on us for not asking but I’d recommend the owners think about some a little plumper.

We liked everything, the cottage is absolutely charming and set amongst beautiful scenic surrounds and gardens. The resident peacocks are very friendly and put on a daily show for us. The cottage is well equipped even a washing machine and drying racks. Location is tranquil and peaceful but within easy reach by car to all the surrounding towns and villages. Would highly recommend.

Small price to pay but being in a countryside location it was a little muddy and imagine if it rained it would be even more so. Best to take appropriate footwear. The televisions were rather small. A bigger bed in the double room would have been better for us.

The location is great, very clean, kitchen has every thing and facilities are, washing machine, TV & transport link excellent Most important very responsive host . Also Kalium the helper was very kind and available to help , went the extra mile to help and came to the property when I could not operate the hot water he did operate it . Polite and friendly

The sofa bed size is small , so it should only advertise to 3 people not 4 or add a single mattress in the storage to use when needed. More bedding and duvet and ensure hot water working all time

Accommodation was good. Liked ‘pub’ atmosphere downstairs with locals enjoying facilities but TV room providing more space - good prices for pub food

The decor is tired & tatty. The paintwork is chipped. One of the sockets was loose. The sheets on the bed felt old & worn. It was dirty - the TV remote control was sticky, the mirrors had not been cleaned, the surfaces were dirty, there were dead flowers, hairs on the windowsill, the bath mats were dirty. The tiles in the bathroom were limescaled. I could not find the advertised parking garage
