Its a nice old hotel in easy (10-15 mins) walk of Matlock Bath and fortunately out of the madness of 'down town' . The open air geo thermally heated (but chilly) pool behind is free to guests and that is a real bonus if you like to swim (vs splash). We upgraded and got a nice room overlooking the gardens and the pool, the first room we saw was poky with no view other than internal courtyard / roof top. Breakfast was OK not exceptional but we didn't eat in the restaurant.

Its a typical English tired faded old resort hotel, a bit creaky at the seams which is fine but at the price we were paying it was a bit below 'good' and the cleanliness in the bathroom was a bit short of attention to detail. Reception desk staff were friendly enough but overall it wasnt a 'smart' experience.

We really enjoyed the bar area and the rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. The decor was excellent. Very good quality for the price. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We’d stay here again.

The breakfast was fine but could have been a little better. The location was not so central, but for the price, very acceptable.

Excellent hosts, great location 15 mins walk to town, beautiful view, stunning breakfast especially the fresh fruit salad, everything you could hope for plus more. Happily return tomorrow!

car parking not for the faint hearted!

Location is excellent, great for sightseeing/shopping etc in Inverness. Flat was very clean and had a reasonable amount of utensils for use.
Negative section of review
Some cleaning equipment - scourers/sponges etc would have been useful for washing up. Bed and pillows were quite soft and its a bit of a squeeze to manoeuvre around the bedroom. Broadband was not suitable for work purposes - Teams, email etc.

having to pay extra for bedding or bring your own. could do with some more cooking utensils when we arrived the caravan appeared tidy but it wasn't clean there was cereal on the kitchen floor and the mattress protecter in the room with the double bed looked dirty and a few other areas of the caravan not like everything was really dirty more like it just hadn't had a clean from the last guests

Handy location complete with car park. Lovely room and bathroom.

Sockets badly located so only one bedside lamp. Steep stairs and gloomy corridor

Pictures on booking looks nice, reality is totally different. Wasn’t clean, the washing machine doesn’t work, no coffee machine even was mentioned, the lockers on door were not working, TV available but cannot acces it because of a PIN requested….There was a garden but cannot acces it, and was really dirty. Also, at main entrance there was a lot of dirt, small details that make a difference between a nice place or a place not to return

Great location, nice and quiet.

Comfortable.

There was building work going on, waking me up at 7am and from time to time throughout the day. The TV signal was not strong enough to sustain watching any TV program.
