Stylish, well presented hotel. Wonderful staff and high standard of food, especially the evening meal. Used the gym, small but air conditioned with everything you need for a decent workout. Lovely indoor and outdoor seating areas. Rooms were excellent and spotless. We will definitely be returning, very impressed indeed. Thank you to all the wonderful staff who obviously work so very hard.

Michael was a fantastic host, who went above and beyond our expectations. The property is beautifully decorated and immaculate. Location was great, 10 minute walk to Matlock, or Matlock Bath. Lovely complementary items which were a well received. Faultless stay, we would highly recommend if you’re looking for a romantic stay with your partner. We will certainly be back!

Some of the friendliest and efficient staff we've ever come across1 thank you nothing was too much trouble. Manager very accommodating over temporary scaffolding outside the Inn ( remove is next week) Great meal , beer and wine.

We had an unfortunate time at dinner in their restaurant. They lost our order and then brought the wrong dish to one of us. They did rectify the mistake by taking off to the cost of my dinner but we felt they were somewhat feeling their way on the restaurant. Pity. Breakfast was fine but some items in the buffet were running short and others looked a bit tired.

Not sure if children are allowed to stay with it being a pub. we have family in Aylesbury and would have the whole family stay here but the 11pm curfew will put our cousins off as they have children.

The location was only the best thing.

The room was small for four guests. No ventilation in the rooms at all. The toilets were always occupied and between 5 rooms and about 12 people, there were only two toilets.
