Made welcome, nothing was too much to ask. Breakfasts were lovely - they were really tasty. The views over the hills - and the sunsets - were gorgeous to behold. Help choosing where to have my evening meals was just right. There were good options in town and further out. (I stayed within walking distance.) There was my own robe - in my own private bathroom. (I chose a room (Starling) with a separate bathroom for £ reasons). The rooms were nicely presented, my bathroom was bright and pretty. Everything worked!

We flew from Bristol and arrived to the hotel close to 9pm. The restaurant was closed but the gentleman in reception gave us options to order food in. As we were not that hungry, he brought us a few packets of biscuits to our room so we had a nice tea and biscuits. Reception staff were very helpful and friendly which was lovely.

Location was amazing, so tranquil, it was spotlessly clean with some lovely touches shower was great some great walks and felt we had dropped right just to the countryside further a night and bed very comfortable - perfect nights stay

Its a Pub, The owner and staff were all very friendly the food was good quality bar food well presented and generous portions. We needed to leave early and they provided us with an early breakfast to go, excellent service.

Location & meals were good. The receptionist offered us a refund, which I refused, only because we had slept in the bed and managed to have a very basic "bath".

Our shower was broken. This was known to property beforehand since there was a sign saying we could not use it. The room should never have been let out for the night. There were 2 tourist buses staying in the hotel that night so I guess they get first priority, even though I booked the room in late 2023.The shower was over a bath tub but we do not like this set up because it can be dangerous for older people. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable.

Having the sheep & lambs very close, in view uphill from your window for rooms 9+10!

Room 9 was noisy, vibrating & smelly from the kitchen extractor! So much so that I set off the fire alarm off from the cooking fumes wafting in with the window open…! Decor all tired & bathroom was very dusty in the corners but overall clean. Nice short walk from Grasmere & they kept the building very warm with heating/fires

Room was very compact and only suitable for someone less than 5' 6". Not able to adjust shower temperature which was very hot. Also attitude of reception member unacceptable.
