Positive section of review
Clonyard Hotel is in a beautiful setting with lovely gardens on a scenic route. Breakfast was good, and the eggs cooked well. The sheets were clean and well laundered. There was a door to an outside terrace, which was very pleasant with the rhodadendiums in bloom.

Our first impressions were of a very tired hotel in need of some TLC. Our twin beds were old and creaky with dips in the mattresses, which should have been replaced several years ago. They gave us backaches and were not comfortable. There were no toiletries in the bathroom except for a small piece of soap, and one towel had a hole in it. The hotel bar was a pleasant meeting room for guests but bore signs of years of smoking on the walls and ceiling. Our Irish coffee was made with too much water and too little coffee, Irish or otherwise! This hotel has the potential to be first class with its great setting but in urgent need of refurbishment. In its current state, it is not good value for money.

Great central location so everywhere an easy walk, with a lovely riverside location which gave great atmosphere on a sunny weekend when we stayed. Had a really lovely meal in the Garden House. All staff exceptionally friendly and helpful.

Stunning location. Professionel staff. Fantastic ground. Good communication. Breakfast included was very good for the price we paid. Check in and out was flawless. Parking was easy. The hotel itself is lovely.

The room was very comfortable and clean with some nic touches Breakfast was continental with boiled eggs ham cheese plenty of cereal and pastries toast and fresh cut fruit. All eaten looking across the lake very relaxing.

Great facilities, friendly staff, Aircon, tea and coffee facilities available in the dining room 24/7. Very comfortable, amazing showers!

We did see a tea stain left in the windowsill from previous guest, this is nip picking but shouldn’t be there. Slight electrical fault in the light above the bed. Staff was very apologetic and said they’ll action it straight away. Exactly what you want to hear.
