Lovely double room, a ground floor room, which was great for me. Kettle provided with coffee, sugar & milk. even a packet of custard creams. We had parking right outside the house. it was a lovely walk into york City Centre through Parkland and along side of the river. It took us about 1/2 hour, but most people could walk it in 15/20 minutes. If walking is too far for you there is a bus stop just in the next road which cost us £2 each (we took the bus on our 2nd day) There was a small safe, small electric coolbox, hangers, and a toilet & shower . Towels were provided.

Very central location. We're on 2nd floor and there is an Indian restaurant just beneath us in 1st floor (though we didn't have a chance to try). The view from the big widow is mesmerizing. All the basic facilities are in place and well functioned.

Marked carpet in bedroom, no towel rail, room not serviced unless you asked. When the room was serviced it wasn’t well done. Bathroom bin not emptied. Bed not remade etc. When we arrived there was water on the bathroom floor where, we assume, the shower curtain hadn’t worked suggesting that the room hadn’t been cleaned properly before we arrived. We were there for 3 nights. But no wardrobe, no drawers, no hooks on bathroom door, no towel rail. Apparently the bedrooms had been refurbished during lockdown. Why would you leave brown curtains, brown skirting board and picture rail when the decor was fairly modern? Chrome in the shower had water marks on so we assumed it hadn’t been cleaned. Decor in the bar was really tatty and the carpets up the night entrance stairs were filthy. The metal window frames in the bedroom were dirty, unpainted and tatty.

The only minor point is the single beds in the front bedroom were a little on the narrow side

Lack of non-slip material in shower cubicle floor. No grab rail in shower. Limited access in opening wardrobe doors as impeding by the bed. Wardrobe would be more suited to having sliding doors. Furniture requires tlc in some areas. Lifts not operational in part of our weekend.
