The accommodation was well equipped, very comfortable and clean. Bed linen and towels were of good quality and a nice little welcome pack was included on arrival. The weather was very mixed during our stay but a fan was provided for when it was hot and the heating was great when the temperature dropped. We look forward to returning and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

Host was quick to respond to my request for a twin room rather than a double, and came to meet me when we couldn’t find the place. Host and staff were friendly, easy-going and helpful. The bed linen smelt nice and clean. Freshly squeezed orange juice at breakfast was lovely.

The property is dated, which is okay but it is in need of a deep clean. Dog lovers will love the fact they can bring their pets but the carpets are imbedded with dog hair, with dusty surfaces and cobwebs, it doesn’t quite match up to a basic room rate, let alone a £125 room rate, which I think is overpriced. There are building works directly next door which obscures what could be a lovely view and noisy. Luckily, they don’t work on weekends so noise didn’t last long. Signage to the property would be helpful to locate the B&B, but if you are stuck, it is almost directly opposite the Goldolphin. There is no shampoo or shower soap so best you bring that along. All in all, a few minor improvements would help, such as a decent vacuum cleaner, airing out and some dusting, larger signposts and information that there are building works in progress (just so that guests are aware). There is also some damp and crumbling paint in the breakfast area which could be dealt with. I am well-traveled and easily pleased but have to admit, I was quite shocked on arrival but every other place in the area was fully booked.

Charming cottage with really excellent facilities. Very thoughtful stock of books and games, and welcome pack of supplies also thoughtful. Location as good as it gets.

Everything was perfect.

It was basic but very much a travelodge with a kettle really. For the extra price, I’m not sure it’s worth it.

We asked for our two rooms to be next to each other, which was agreed a few weeks before, when we arrived they were on two different floors. I showed the messages and the receptionist said he could do the same floor but they wouldn’t be together and different parts of the floor. So we said we’d just stay as we are then. So my wife and youngest went to their room whilst I took the other kids to our room on separate floors,to which my wife’s and youngest room, when they entered, stunk of cigarette smoke. When she asked for another room, they were moved to room right opposite ours. Not sure why that couldn’t have been done initially. Road noise isn’t good for sleep, and without aircon, the windows need to be open for some air. The breakfast was ok, but don’t expect a lot of choice for the continental.

Breakfast very poor selection Most hotels allow fresh fruit and yogurt instead of cereal then a main course selection but this hotel didn't. 3 cereals on offer, rice Krispies, cornflakes or Weetabix. To have fresh fruit n yogurt etc had to be your main selection instead of a fry, continental or pancakes. I choose pancakes n bacon maple syrup. Bacon was hard and my daughter didn't like the pancakes. Disapointing
