Liked the hot tub however it had a quarter inch yellow scum line round the water line which we had to clean off making us doubt if it had been drained & cleaned prior to our use. The fridge in the pod was dirty and definitely not cleaned and had a vile smell hence we did not use & luckily brought a cool box with us.

Dirty hot tub & yellow scum line. Broken glass next to the hot tub & no brush for us to sweep it up. Vile smell from the fridge & visibly dirty. Slugs climbing up the shower wall. Vile smell in the pod. Not nice yellow muck at bottom of shower room door in pod. Leaves & dirt on the patio area outside the pod, very disappointing along with the broken glass & obvious lack of cleaning. Having booked & read poor reviews I thought (wrongly) that surely anyone running this business would rectify these easily resolved issues by now, as there are so many bad reviews but no, clearly they have extremely low standards with regards to basic cleanliness and health and safety or they are employing cleaners who are unable to complete these tasks & owners who really don’t care? Very disappointing because these could be lovely pods if they were cleaned properly & general attention to details like broken glass left for the next guests?? Who does that?? It’s beyond me

This is a small B & B with a lovely host who worked hard to make us welcome. The rooms are small, and the bathrooms are tiny, but we managed. The stairs are quite tight and steep, but the breakfast was excellent.

Great location and walkable into Matlock. Really nice pubs nearby with local ales and decent food. Lots to do in the surrounding area. Quirky accommodation which is nice and quiet.

Duvets and pillows were feather filled, which I have some allergy to. I may have missed this in the description and some locally purchased antihistamines kept reactions down.

Perfect for a small family, we travelled with our children aged 5, 2 and 3 weeks and it had everything that we could possibly need! Perfect location too!

What a terrible experience I had. A lot of strange people walking around the hostel everyday, you don’t feel safe anytime. The hostel is also full of young students travelling in huge groups making a lot of noise and mess. The staff aren’t welcoming, it seems like they’re doing a favour to you. The lockers aren’t easy to manage. The bathroom hasn’t enough hot water in the shower.
