We loved the comfort and the cleanliness of our room. The lounge areas were spacious where we relaxed awaiting for our room to be ready. There was a lovely garden where we could sit in the sun. We had to leave early so the hotel packed us a breakfast. A step back into the luxury of yesteryear hotels with white tablecloth dining and old world charm.

The full English was very disappointing. It was cold with raw mushroom dry black pudding. Random pieces of differently cooked Bacon. No beans was told only enough for vegetarians. David the Manager very nice when I discussed my concerns

Deputy Manager could have been much more understanding empathetic and professional than he was. Could have been Good? Should have been Good? When you go to a hotel you don’t expect the chair to collapse on you? You don’t expect the toilet set to move out of position on you. And you don’t expect your room phone not to work when in a potential emergency you go to use it. Then the deputy manager comes to see you. Before even asking you anything he proceeds to ask you questions read from the form he has, which he dutifully fills out. Not asking? Initially “are you in pain”? “Are you ok” So general Chit chat was based on the questions on the form? When finished with form I explained we were both pensioners my husband being 90 me 72 & we were on our wedding Anniversary, told him I was ok just a tinge… he Picks up the chair the screw the phone and off he goes, saying we will look at this and if need be we will get in touch with you??????

The quintessential English country pub. Which would appear to be quite difficult nowadays, however the team here have a lovely setup. Great welcome and quiet location in this beautiful village. Super rooms and food.

Lovely hotel in great location. Very clean, comfortable bed, good power shower. No breakfast facilities but they provided a good breakfast bag. Very enjoyable one night stay albeit a bit expensive.

Staff were exceptional if overworked as there weren’t enough. Hotel needs a paint job. Scruffy in places.

Food wasn’t brilliant. Last night they had a coach party in so service in the dining room was slow. They brought our main course in before our starters and then I think they put them under the warmer so when they brought the back, they were cold and dry. We left them. I never got the crostini’s with my starter either. Housekeeping didn’t leave us our morning sugar or any toilet rolls.

Very narrow bathroom with broken basin, small size of the room, and almost no furniture. At this size some more shelves e.g above the bed would help much

The restaurant was terrible, staff were stressed and the food was all frozen and deep fried! Was not good!! As a hotel for travelers they don’t offer room service which is crazy! Lucky they are close to McDonald’s
