The cottage is only a 10 minute walk from Alnwick Town centre. Parking is free on the street outside of the cottage. It is located at the entrance of a new estate, with lovely woodland walks to the bridge over the river Aln. We were only the 3rd family to stay at the cottage and Sadie, the owner, was very attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed, nothing was a problem. We cooked breakfast and evening meal at the cottage as cooking facilities and utensils available. The cottage is basic, clean and the bed is very comfortable. Morning views delightful, listening to the birds whilst drinking coffee in bed. We will definitely return.

No outside garden or patio but there is a roofed yard with table and chairs leading to the side gate to the main street.

Staff were very helpful and easily contacted using the phone in the room. Very cozy , could adjust temperature easily if needed . Slept really well in the massive bed !! Great having the fridge and toaster , the microwave was a real bonus too . Unfortunately didn’t get time to have a meal in the Inn but the menu looked good . Car parking in front of room great for loading/unloading car .

Could have been a little cleaner in places, some corners were missed but acceptable for amount paid for room.

We liked the hotel and found the staff very friendly and helpful The food was really good and the room much better than we imagined.Loved all the tudor character paintings around the hotel. Would definitely return if travelling this way.

The approach road to carpark was a little tricky to navigate but realise space was at a premium. Also it was a shame such a lovely historic hotel overlooked the 60s/70s buildings from our lovely room but obviously not the hotels fault.

Gorgeous room and wonderful bar. Staff were genuinely some of the most friendly staff I've ever come across. Really friendly locals in the bar area also. Great location if you want quiet and peasant. Loads of parking too.

Breakfast wasn't included but was in the booking form. However, staff are aware and trying to rectify this situation.

I didn't realise when booking that it was in a school zone. Meaning you can't move your car between 8-9am. It is actually right on the edge of the zone so I kept my car in a different street so I could leave at the right time.
