Location was good, The opportunity to make our own breakfast was good and fridge and cupboards were clean. There was no hotplate just microwave and toaster. Which was good for 3 nights stay

It was very snug, the carpet rugs were grubby and leather sofa also worn and uncomfortable. There were lots of low beams in the upstairs bedroom and this should have been highlighted. Also the bed was low, an uncomfortable mattress on a wooden base that creaked and moved. Because of the age of the property the floors creaked and constantly heard the people opposite walking about at all hours. Very disturbing. Saw no staff to mention this too. The bathroom would not be suitable for people with disabilities as the sunken bath is 18 inches away from the toilet..scary. The upstairs, because there are so many beams and dark furniture it looks dusty and unclean. All the carpets in the building could do with a good clean and hoover.

I’ve stayed at the Clayton for the last three years, whilst attending Crimefest. The rooms are always clean, the staff helpful and the breakfast excellent.

Lovely , good choice generally , daughter lives the waffle maker. Not a great deal of alternative breads or fruits

We had a negative experience of ordering a pizza later in the evening in the bar, when it took over an hour and a half to arrive a request was made it be brought to the room instead as was with my daughter . I was asked to collect from reception as no one could deliver to the room , yet 3 staff members were at reception, the pizza was cold upon collection. Very disappointing , it would have be better to be told they could not provide this service.

It is a beautiful hotel, very close to the seafront and very helpful staff. Overall room was very clean and nice.

The pillows/bedding in the room were very uncomfortable and whilst at our stay we had to use the staff lift which was frustrating with a pram and young children/babies.

Problems with gate code and accessing parking space when we arrived but staff very apologetic and helpful in sorting it out. Accommodation would benefit from new decor. It's a bit dark.
