There is a good reason why Newcourt Barton rates highly. It is an excellent property with comfortable facilities. The breakfast was complete, the bed very comfortable and the setting peaceful. Perfect getaway.

Not the property but our Google maps had trouble navigating the local roads which are typical English country lanes. Suggest planning and not relying on satnav.

We booked a superior double room - when we arrived we were allocated a disabled room which had disabled facilities (call bell which frequently was set off and staff attended) but had a very low sink … which for a couple who are both very tall wasn’t the best. We were offered a different room but at an additional cost of £60 … which we didn’t take up. Disappointed at room allocation The spa only had 4 beds for guests to use when they weren’t in the sauna, plunge pool or aromatherapy room.

Very basic, plain and feels like student digs. The main issue for me was cleanliness, the bathroom looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. Practicality wise, very small. The sink is so small you cannot wash your face in it, and can only just aim to spit out toothpaste. There is no where to put anything, no toilet paper holder, no hand towel rail, no shelf and nothing in the shower so everything is just falling over ever where. There are wooden floors throughout making it very noisy and not sound proof. Can hear people upstairs and was woken at midnight and 6 am. The pillows are very lumpy and uncomfortable and you only get 1 each. Handy that there is a kitchen but only had the smallest mugs which looked like espresso mugs so I didn’t even bother to make a cup of tea. Kitchen and down stairs is lovely and modern but not really set out like a guest house so you feel like you are trespassing in someone else’s home and using someone else’s things. My partner struggled with his asthma and found the room very dusty and said there was thick dust under the bed that looked like it had been there for months. Overall the rating this has doesn’t match the experience it’s a 5 at most.

Untidy shabby location; no toaster no microwave;no toiletries; no dishwasher tablets; few utensils- one saucepan- dirty and one small pan . No chopping board. Nowhere to eat a meal. Crockery was wet in cupboard. Bedside lamps had no power source; no heating instruction ; key stuck in door -regular occurrence we understand. Tv could not be turned off . Only one towel in double bedroom; back garden overgrown. Booking.com needs to audit this apartment ‘s reviews.
