How does it work?

  • 1

    It starts with a booking

    It starts with a booking

The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.

  • 2

    Followed by a trip

    Followed by a trip

When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.

  • And finally, a review

    And finally, a review

After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

Location perfect beach over the road, town 5 min walk. Car park had availability reasonably price and undercover connection to hotel. Size of room, comfy with additional sofa and chairs. Mini fridge good although did seem hot in the cupboard it was in- nicely stocked with soft drinks. Tea, coffee, biscuits (although on arrival only one pack) and coffee machine. Selection of useful bits shower cap, shaving set, nail file tooth kit. Bathroom good size with extra shower. Towels. Balcony good size and equipped with chairs and table. Window unable to clean as weather/ time had taken it's toll on it. The staff were all friendly, helpful and polite and can not be faulted. Everyone of them excellent.

Booking.com advertising Executive room. Holiday Inn called it Premier room -Confusing. Bin was part full of rubbish on arrival. No robes or slippers. One pack of biscuits. No newspapers was told should order on line Key card not worked (then read small sign don't put key card with credit cards)- better if been told in person. All problems sorted by exceptional staff promptly. Went for breakfast was told our room number had already been crossed off again staff sorted. Lots of niggly problems not what you expect paying for an executive room. Check in time is 4pm unless you want to pay a early fee. Most hotels check in is 3pm . Car park although very handy and accessible from hotel via door it was gloomy(lights did come on as approached areas ( done to save energy and nets I presume to keep birds out which is good but first glance bit creepy) although wouldn't have liked to go to it alone. Steep to exit from and scraped bottom of car. Restaurant catered for all but for someone who needs simple menu it was hard to choose. GF limited.

Kevin met us on arrival, very friendly and helpful. He carried our very heavy case up to the top floor which was really kind of him. We had a really good nights sleep and the accommodation was spotlessly clean. We managed to park on the road outside the property which is free so that was a bonus. Even better was the proximity to the murals and the city walls - no more than 5 minutes walk. Perfect location. Breakfast was self service from the kitchen but Kevin was around if we needed anything. A good stay.

Very clean inside the property and pretty much everything you could need for a short stay. Washing machine, cooker, microwave, TV etc. Good location and very close to the town and seafront (about a 10 min walk) There's a small, friendly convenience store next door and a Budgens two min walk from the apartment. A shower and a bath (although the bath is tiny - I'm only five foot and my legs were hanging off the end) Very local to bus services.

As it appears to be managed by something called My Getaways I almost cancelled because of all the rules and regulations stipulated in the booking. I was originally going to bring my small dog, but was told it would be an additional £95 if I did. There is also a £89 cleaning fee and a £500 refundable deposit/£50 non refundable fee for insurance. In the end a three night stay cost me almost £600. I would have been better off booking a local hotel or a Travelodge tbh. Another thing I didn't like was being told that they had noise monitors installed in the property (although I couldn't see any) and that any excess noise would set off the alarm - ironic given that the people in the apartment above seemed to be rehearsing for the River Dance every night! Also they state that they only provide one rubbish bag - small thing, but you'd think they would happily provide a roll of bin liners for guests to put any rubbish or packaging in. When we arrived there was a full rubbish bag outside the front of the property and one outside the back - no idea if this was from a previous guest or from the people living upstairs. I personally wouldn't book a property through My Getaways again. The actual apartment was ok for a short break.

The cottage is on a working Croft, with excellent views. It feels remote, but is only 20 mins from the centre of Portree. The cottage is very well furnished & equipped, including lots of extras - binoculars, maps, flowers, locally produced goods etc. It was clean & very comfortable. The hosts, Lisa & Ewan, are both friendly & helpful.

The service was wonderful, the room incredibly comfortable and well thought out, and the surroundings quiet and restful even with the airport on your doorstep. The food was good (and the flexible feeding times much appreciated) and the dining area lovely. I'd definitely stay again!

As a pedestrian arriving by bus I found it a little confusing finding the entrance but I worked it out in the end. There are signs but a map would be good. :)

Awful room, windows in the ceiling with no blinds & all night you could just hear pipes and fans on the roof. Not a restful sleep. Room lacked the basics - e.g. hand towel in bathroom, hook on wall for towel, proper lamp by bed. Etc.
