Superb location with discounted rate for the on street parking which was fine. The bedding & towels were clean & fine. The room size was adequate.

A typical UK shower… a trickle, scolding hot, then cold, back to warm! You know the drill. Shower pole hanging loosely. Rather unacceptable in a hotel nowadays, but we are so used to it we give in.

The bath room looked as though someone was having a go for the first time at tiling .The bottom of the bath was slippery and I was told that a bath mat was available but missed the notice ! From our point a handle on the wall above the bath would have been a great help at our age to get in and out safely. A large water stain in the corner of the ceiling and coving running down the join in the wall paper .Not a great look and not exactly a major job to fix. Water stain in the bedroom (Room 2 )

My daughter’s room was very dated and worn in the shower room. She does have OCDs but even so I felt it was a dreary and unwelcoming room. My partner and I had good rooms, on both nights we stayed, but the first night it sounded like the next room was using our toilet facilities as the walls were a bit thin. On the second night something went wrong in the kitchen, as it wasn’t busy, and it took an hour and a half for the dinner to arrive from ordering - I understand it was a staff shortage problem - excessive but the food cost was refunded.
