Breakfast was the highlight of my weekend, gotta love that bacon 🥓 , and the bread was so soft I could sleep on it. Staff were really friendly, and informative. Rooms we're clean, and overall the building had wonderful interior. I would definitely stay at St James again, if I should ever return to Nottingham. I will recommend this hotel to whom ever wishes to visit Nottinghamshire. Thank you for a pleasant stay :) That bacon though :p

No real complaints, to be honest. I did however noticed quite a few snags in my room 116, like the wardrobe top wasn't jointed together properly, the toilet seat wouldn't stay up, and the paint work could have been a bit more tidy around the edges. But I work in construction, so I naturally look for these things at the end of a job. No harsh feelings the room was lovely! Also I was put off from drinking the bottled water as £5 did seem alot for a drink. The teas that were supplied were very nice though :)

Nothing, location still ok but not what was booked. Dreadful experience. If this had have gone right it would be a location I would use over and over again.

- I booked a two bed apartment but only provided a one bed apartment with no notice and was not the apartment advertised and nowhere near the same standard. - I followed the instructions to check in however when I arrived and gave an hours notice as requested, no one was there. I had to call and message several times and kept saying to wait 2 minutes. I was then asked to walk 6 minutes up Edgeware Road with my luggage to Barclays bank. This whole process took over an hour after I arrived. - As a result of being moved to another apartment I missed my nearby meeting completely. - I then had to wait a further 10 minutes for the keys to arrive that had a fob for the front door as the lady who checked me in didn't have them - The apartment I booked on the website looked very nice and the apartment I was given was not of the same standard. - The code I was then given on the keys did not work to re access as the building in the morning. - There were no toiletries provided to use whilst staying at the apartment so I had to go to the shop in the morning. - I specifically picked this apartment and paid extra because it looked nice however I left feeling very disappointed and nobody has contacted me since to apologise other than when Nora checked me in, she said I'm very sorry about this.

A unique and very pleasant stay. Almost everything was well managed and convenient. The monks were friendly, and the site beautiful to walk around.

The only thing I could mark Mirfield Monastery down was the lack of toiletries provided in my room.

It was nice to have our own room with en-suite and a desk to do my makeup. It was also close to my dad’s care home as we were there visiting him.

It hadn’t been cleaned properly. The bedding was all bobbly and only a sheet even though it was cold. The bed itself was horrible uncomfortable and we only had one paper thin pillow each. 1 bath towel and 1 hand towel for two people, I booked us as a couple so no idea why. No information about wifi and spoke to another guest in the hall who told us it barely worked anyway. Carpet hadn’t been hoovered at all, covered in hair and fluff, like more than my house and I have a big dog, had to wear socks the whole time. The kettle was mouldy, cleaned it to then find out that the milk provided went out of date on the 25th of February 2024, so no coffee or tea the whole time we were there. The area was close my dad’s care home, which is why we stayed and didn’t leave right away, but it was in such a dodgy area, drug addicts, rowdy kids etc. When we arrived went up to drop off our bags then came back out to go to Aldi, within those 5mins the police had cordoned off the street to the right for a possible stabbing. We felt so unsafe the rest of the time and didn’t go out after dark.

The house had a toilet and bathroom, the location is ok and safe to park your car on the street.

My stay was unsatisfactory as the mattress in the principle bedroom was shocking! When I lied down on it I felt the springs coming through the mattress. It was so bad that I had to sleep downstairs on the sofa. One thing that I do expect, when you pay to stay in a property advertised on Booking.com, is a good nights sleep on a decent mattress.
