I stayed at A-Haven Townhouse for two nights. The room was cosy with a very comfortable bed. From the moment I stepped in, the staff was gracious and kind, eager to offer information about the city and accommodate any issue I might raise. Given the advertisement of it I was looking forward to the breakfast, and just as expected I found it cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was immaculate. Gentle classical music was played in the background of a dining room with ample natural lighting. The staff served the guests courteously and amicably and overall created a light-hearted and welcoming environment. If you’re on holiday in the city or just looking for some respite from life’s stresses I highly recommend booking a stay at this quaint and inviting hotel.

We had a decent stay overall. The flat is cozy and situated in a modern building with nice facilities and a lovely terrace. Getting to the city center and airports wasn't too much of a hassle either. But, the location is a bit inconvenient at times since you might need to take a short ride or walk for about 15 minutes to catch a direct line to where you want to go. One good thing was how easy it was to get in touch with the host and get quick responses.

However, despite the host being friendly, it felt like the flat could have been better taken care of. We found some essentials missing like bath stuff and dishwasher tablets. Plus, the remotes had dead batteries, the iron was busted, and initially, no one could figure out how to turn on the fridge. We didn't get a proper tour of the flat either, so we spent quite some time trying to figure out how to use the shower (it has 3 identical handles without any marking and you have to keep it on the lowest temperature to avoid being cooked there) and finding switches hidden behind the dressers Although things got sorted eventually, it wasn't the best start, especially considering the price. Hopefully, the stuff we bought during the stay will help out the next guests.

Breakfast was great, bed was comfortable. There was a drying room that I made use of. The food in the restaurant was excellent as well.

I would have liked a bath instead of a shower, but that was more to do with walking the West Highland Way and soothing my aching limbs! Under normal circumstances the shower would have been more than adequate.

I was told I hadn’t paid for the booking although I had and the receptionist was completely unable to sort it out saying I had to prove I’d paid from bank statements when I got home . Very stressful as was going to get charged again for a booking I had already paid for .

My bed had already been slept in and therefore the sheets had been used. The toilet brush was filthy, faeces all over it. The window did not stay open, the television did not work. The electrical connection on the lamp was faulty and it kept flickering off. The plug to the bath was broken. NO hot water. No milk to have with a cup of tea even when I asked they said they had none. Overall the decor was very tatty, chipped paint work. The bar was very loud and didn't quieten down until after midnight.
