We booked an accessible room on the ground floor, it was clean and comfortable although a little dark as it only had a small window facing onto the parking outside the hotel entrance. It was reasonably quiet although the plumbing from other rooms could be heard. The receptionists were extremely helpful and friendly.

The bathroom was designed for someone in a wheelchair so the sink and mirrors were at wheelchair height. We needed an easily accessible room but we found the low sink and mirrors difficult to use. I don't know if that's the case with other rooms.

Teardrop Cottage was spotless. Mike was lovely and really helpful. Lots of little extras that really makes a differance. Continental Breakfast was great and plenty of it. A beautiful location and parking too. We really enjoyed our stay

We loved having car parking space. The area we love close to tube and eating places. We didn't have to use the front bedroom and could use it as a lounge instead, to sit around the table for breakfast and snacks late evening.

The front entrance (lots of rubbish outside, grass uncut and overgrown) and hallway (lots of envelopes and flyers strewn over the floor and on shelfing) were unkempt and worried us. We had already been informed about the difficulties with opening the front door - this proved to be correct. But we did get in. Communication with owner was good and he called back quickly. He also checked, we had got in OK. The stair carpet was dirty and dark purple - it needs a good clean and potentially being changed to wood or laminate. Using the stairs - light only came on as you started to climb stairs so with the dark carpet you had to be careful. The one step in between landings needs marking to make you aware of it! In the flat: Not warm enough on arrival - but we had the video that showed how to increase heat. We did and remembered to turn it off when we left. At least two rooms: Window blinds were broken. Lamps on floor. The laminate floor in hall way is lifting causing a potential trip hazard. The front bedroom: The chairs around the table - 3 were OK type and we felt confident in sitting in them but the other chairs were put up/put down type, resulting that in the evenings one of had to sit on the bed for comfort and safety. Not happy about lamp on floor. Blinds need attention. The kitchen: Fridge needs a real overhaul - seriously needs defrosting there was large build up of longstanding ice inside the fridge itself. Opening the fridge door difficult especially with the kitchen door being wedged open up against the fridge. There was stains inside the mugs which left us feeling that we had to wash everything before use. But there was enough crockery, mugs, bowls, cutlery, pots and pans but again the frying pan needs replacing. We only used the gas hob. Cupboards, door handles coming away - and the shelves need a deep clean - some quite sticky and one had a couple of woodlouse in - alive and moving. We didn't put our food in any of the cupboards.

The main positive was the 2 young girls on reception when we arrived

We arrived early evening and given the key to our room . Unfortunately the room hadn’t been cleaned still had full bins used dirty bedding and used towels on the floor. The second room had cobwebs hanging from the ceiling to the point they was just above my head , chipped and cracked cups , not good. We tried the breakfast which was stone cold the bacon was almost raw I informed the waitress who came out with a probe checked 1 item and muttered to her colleague that’s ok. As a chef and owner of my own establishment I would be embarrassed to even entertain serving food to that standard. We there for didn’t entertain eating at the hotel at all for the rest of our stay. We found a place on the sea front which served an all you can eat buffet style breakfast which was far superior for an extra £1. The hotel could be a fantastic venue if it didn’t look so tired and some proper maintenance was done to the building and grounds. Silly things like the bins outside the front door and the ashtrays should be emptied at least daily not left for days.
