Nice small hotel ,nicely situated for exploring the island. Room was clean and included breakfast was great.Staff everywhere were good Reasoably priced compared to the other property we stayed at on Islay.Parking was good. I would recommend this property

lovely site, direct access to the beach. the caravan was clean and comfortable and equipped with everything that we needed. the pub, meals were great, filling and not overpriced, and the bar was well stocked and again, reasonably priced.

i feel the accommodation could benefit from a welcome pack, with basic info included, whats on in the local area, places to visit, the pub opening times and perhaps a sample menu, also instructions for the heating would be helpful.

The hotel is much more luxurious than its competitors closer to the city centre - only 5/10 minutes walk away. The room was lovely, luxurious modern, and spacious. Bathroom was also well appointed and modern.

The wifi didn’t work in the room, even after we asked for it to be fixed. We had to go to the lobby to connect. Staff said they had many complaints from 5th floor customers. The room smelled like smoke, especially in the bathroom, the staff said they couldn’t fix that and gave us a fan, which did not help. There was no working phone in the room - they said they were still “working that out”. Our room had no shampoo or bath gel. We asked for clean towels and they were not delivered until we asked a second time hours later. The elevator was sometimes full of laundry bags, (I have a picture of this) so there was no room for guests to get in. With every complaint the front desk staff apologized but nothing was rectified. I asked on the first day for a refund and the woman said she would look into it with management. The second day the staff was not aware of this request. On checkout the woman promised me I would receive an email from the general manager and to date I’ve received nothing - it’s been a week.
