Positive section of review
Convenient location for a visit to the city centre (10min drive). Lovely spacious and comfortable bedrooms (3 x doubles, 1 of which on the ground floor), ideal with two teenagers. Not a huge amount of space in the lounge (not enough space for 4 to sit) but we were really only using it as a base so this wasn't an issue for us. Communication from the host was good, no issues getting in to the key box, and friendly communication during our stay.

Not a major issue but there is only one bathroom, could have done with an addition loo but obviously space is an issue. We found it quite tricky to park close to the house, ended up in the next street a couple of times, but we are fit and able so again, not a massive issue for us.

Beautiful apartment, spacious, very clean, the owner was warm & very friendly, made us feel extremely welcome, including a few little extras that were extremely thoughtful. The apartment was amazing, the icing on the cake was the owner! Thankyou so much for making our stay so enjoyable!!! I will happily return in the future and will definitely recommend this to family & friends 😁

The room was comfortable, and we had a lovely four poster bed, which made us feel a little special. The host was friendly and offered some suggestions for sightseeing and dining.

Our room was comfortable, but there was limited space for hanging clothes, and access from the carpark is a bit awkward if you have heavy suitcases, but it would be difficult to overcome these minor issues in such a lovely old building.

The location is great for visiting Exeter town centre. The bed was comfortable. House keeping was good.

Not being told to pay for parking at the hotel which would have saved me money. Not receiving a reply when requesting an earlier check-in. Reception not answering the phones. A request to have the room invoice emailed over after payment was made, and before staying was not acknowledged. The shower thermostat was either very hot or cold. The room lighting was too bright, no dimmers. Overall, it was a poor experience.

Renovation work in progress meaning having to access the hotel via steep narrow stairs. Loud drilling, banging noise from early morning. Taxis unable to stop outside hotel to drop off/pick up due to vans blocking the road. Brick wall view from the hotel. Bedrooms in need of updating. Although a kettle and various drinks sachets provided in the room, no milk provided and no staff around to ask for some.

My only complaint is about the EV charging. It's provided by a 3rd party company but the sign up using the app was so complicated it took me an hour to get connected including two phone calls to their support line. Why oh why dont these providers accept simple contactless payment?

Smokers in adjacent room, their smoke came through bathroom extractor vents leaving horrible stink. No coat hooks in room only coat hangers, not much use with wet coats
