We booked this place last minute as our pre-booked Airbnb fell through. I was feeling quite vulnerable at the time so it really meant a lot that the staff were helpful, homely and trustworthy. It felt like we were cared for and safe. The checking-in process was quick and efficient and our room had all the basics we needed and was clean. They provided quite a lot of biscuits and hot drinks with a kettle. I would plan for getting bottled water from the shops nearby, though, as the staff did not recommend drinking the tap water. We also had a fan in our room which helped keep us cool. We had a room with a toilet and shower, but other rooms had ones with shared toilets and showers which gave the place a friendly hostel vibe. I didn't interact much with other guests but they were very nice. Even the guests in the pub downstairs were friendly and helpful too, they pointed out the right person to talk to to check into the hotel.

The weather was quite warm, combined with being on the top floor, so our room was pretty hot. I didn't mind this though. We did have a fan to help keep us cool though and a small window which we kept open when we weren't sleeping.

We love everything especially the kindness & hospitality of our host which given us a bottle of wine as welcome drink, 20 minutes walk you will get into the centrum of manningtree, of all they left us a wonderful bible how to get around , great place to eat - it safe us times , if you have to transit by Harwich we really recommend thier house which feels like home for us.

Great location attached to the golf club. Great club house ,with good food .Safe parking by the chalet .

The air-conditioning cut out when trying to lower the temperature. The basin plug leaked. The bath plug was detached. Water leaked under the shower screen. The toilet and toilet paper holder were poorly positioned. There was no natural ventilation in the room
