Went to book in & were told our room not avaliable, due to maintenance. We were sent to a sister hotel, The Royal Eagle and to walk 15 minutes to get there. Got given an atrocious room which was minute, more like a rabbit hutch. Phoned reception to say we were not happy. They said they would let us know if they could give us another room. They did show us another room but when we came back they said it was unavailable as they had a leak. They then offered us another tiny room but bathroom was a little bigger. To save any more hassle we accepted the room. However the bathroom was very poor, toilet seat loose, basin was blocked shower head was pulled away from the wall. The push button on toilet was also broken. Both of us were disgusted.

The whole attitude of the staff was wrong, they even offered us free breakfast but we had already paid for it!! None of the rooms we saw were anything like we booked for the Hyde Park boutique hotel, not in size or comfort.

It was a lovely place to stay and the facilities were amazing. The chalet was set out beautifully and a lovely quiet area to rest after a busy day. The owner was very welcoming and lovely and made us feel valued. Would highly recommend and would happily stay there again in a heartbeat

Lovely stay. Really appreciated breakfast, chatting and getting to meet the dogs. Alyson & Jon would have given us a lift from the station if we'd have asked. They were very kind about us being soaked with rain. Thank you.

The main clientele - unsurprisingly - were wedding groups and this brought an enjoyable buzz to the hotel. The staff were delightful, professional and very helpful. The food was very good.
