The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.

When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.

After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

There is no designated parking so we were a little concerned about how close we would be. However, we needn't have worried and were able to park about 30' away, where the car remained for our 2 day stay. We holidayed in May, so not sure if in 'high season' this would still be the case but all of the other B&Bs had 'no vacancies' signs, so were also full. Our welcome to Penmorva was genuinely warm, the room very comfortable, as was the bed; and our hosts friendly and helpful. Breakfast in the morning was excellent. We had to leave very early on the second day and as this was too early for breakfast, a packed one was provided for us - a nice touch!

The size of the rooms we're great. Well stocked kitchen with plenty of tea/coffee/milk and sugar. All the glasses, dishes and cooking utensils you could wish for. Good communication to allow us to check in and out without any fuss. I am a paddleboarder, so the walking distance to the canal was excellent. Also not a long walk to get to the City Wall and into town, so location brilliant for us.

Cobwebs on outside doors and rattan furniture- but what do u expect this time of year, not a big deal.

The room was spacious and well appointed and it even had a fridge. The bathroom was very clean and the shower was easy to use. The room was serviced daily. There was a kitchen area on the ground floor which I didn't use but that was very clean also. If you want a breakfast there is an excellent cafe on Cowley road which is 10-15 mins walk and it opens at 8am

Beautiful location, stopped off on the way to Seahouses. We didn't have an evening meal, so we could not comment on that, but we found the most amazing pub/restaurant about a 5-minute walk away called The Fox Hole. The food was the best I've ever tasted. The staff at the hotel were brilliant and nothing too much trouble.

Unfortunately, they had not had a delivery of egg's, so this impacted the choice of breakfast 😕 Bit hard to have a full English without, although what we did have was ok. Also, only one flat pillow provided and the coffee sachets were all hard, so used my own that I had taken.

We have stayed many times at the Bowling Green, finding it comfortable and convenient for our needs. Great access to Beech Road with lots of eating options, shops and pubs and also to the nature reserve for some quiet relaxation.

Only drawback is the limited breakfast facilities, too many over sweet options but excellent fridge facilities with milk, yogurts, juice etc and a bowl of fruit. Some people may find it noisy till late but that is to be expected staying above a pub.

The apartment was lovely and clean, and in a great location . It also had all the items in the apartment for a pleasant stay.

The property requires maintenance. The lock on the apartment entrance door was very loose and looking at the wear marks around the lock, it has been like that for a while. The shower head was missing from one of the bathrooms. The bathroom door didn’t fit the frame, so it wouldn’t close. On the the curtain rods was hanging down in one of the bedrooms

It’s in a lovely setting with a great view. The room is quirky, comfortable and very well equipped.

The step up to the bed area is quite high (I used chairs as handrails!) and the shower upstairs is awkward to be in. It’s not an ideal place for anyone with any mobility issues..

Convenient location on outskirts of Kirkwall. The walk-in shower was a key factor for my wife.

The absence of a garden or anywhere to sit out, but we knew this was the case so it was no surprise.
