The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.

When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.

After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

This was my second time staying at the Lansdown Grove Hotel and I enjoyed it very much. It's in a great location high above the city, so great views and a feeling of being in a peaceful spot. The gardens are lovely, staff very friendly and helpful and the rooms very comfortable. We had a room with an outside patio which was ideal for relaxing in the sun in a private space. There is an atmosphere of quiet gentility and elegance.

There could have been more milk provided on the tea tray and possibly more tea options eg: some herbal teas included.

What a result! Fantastic house with everything you might need. Large rooms, huge open plan kitchen with dining table, log burner if required, loads of storage. Location was spot on for exploring Shetland, easy to find and stunning views over Scalloway. Neil, the host, was on hand and was a full of information about eating and drinking, places to visit - you must visit a cake fridge, which we did on Neil's recommendation.

Bigger bath towels would be nice but that is being picky!

The host was friendly and made himself available for our late arrival. We also had to leave fairly early, and he cooked us a great breakfast, as well. He even let us charge our EV, which was an amazing fringe benefit and saved us time before our flight! The eggs from the chickens on site were also a special treat!

We had a little trouble finding it, mostly because of our late arrival - but Cliff was easily reachable and helped us find it right away!

The location between gardens and golf but really close to Perth was perfect . The hotel has an old fashioned flair but in a nice way. We loved it . The staff was nice and helpful. We had a room with garden view that was great .

Good breakfast very pleasantly taken in an on site cafe, just one minute walk across the drive from the accommodation block. Good food!.

It was 1.4 miles from the historic town of Charlbury, where I really wanted to be and it is all uphill (I came by bike) The road into Charlbury has no footway or lights (you normally would not get this in rural location, I concede) This is the highest that I have ever paid for a B&B (ie not a guest house or a hotel) at £126.50 for just one person.

The tv didn’t work, and the shower head didn’t stay up so I wasn’t able to properly shower. The whole of the apartment smelt like stale smoke, and there was rust on the bath
