It was our first time in London so we chose to stay in Soho. This place was definitely standing out because of the location. Imagine living in a walking distance to all major London sightseeing places and museums! A better location one can not find. Half an hour walk takes you to Westminster Abbey, and it's just an hour promenade through the Hyde Park to the Museum of Natural History, and just 15 minutes - to British Museum and The National Gallery! Camden town, all major train stations are also quite close. In the evening, the area offers lots of great places to eat (including full english breakfast and fish&chips) and plenty of lovely pubs. The kitchen has all common utensils so one can cook something, and Tesco Express and M&S Food are around the corner. The internet connection is fast and stable so one can plan the next day/book tickets with no issues. If you forgot the adapter for the british sockets, there is one as well.

There were some minor issues with shower and sink, and cleaning could be improved a bit, but, still, that's a great place to stay.

The breakfast was really good and made in good time. The Bar area had good beer. All of the staff were very polite and friendly. Overall I had a very pleasant stay.

Try the steam train from East Grinstead. Runs twice a day. Lots of independent shops and the Gothic House offers advice and guidance on days out and sightseeing.

- friendly staff - very close to the paddington station - curtains on the bunk beds allowed for a bit of privacy - fan in the room helped with the heat
Negative section of review
- very small bunk beds (3 beds high!) in a very small room that heats up quickly - thin walls so it gets very noisy - rather old and run down bathroom facilities

Accommodation-wise, delivered quality of service expected given nature of hotel & cost of stay.
Negative section of review
Breakfast service was shambolic. Stated GBP15.- breakfast cost covers only cooked breakfast plus toast & hot drink. Juice, cereal, porridge charged additionally. No fruit or yogurt available. Not even any marmalade. All milk in hotel suddenly found to be out of date, even after ordered hot & cold food had been served to table. Had to wait 20’ for staff member to pick up fresh milk from local shop. Cereal & cooked breakfast provided simultaneously, resulting in hot food being cold by time needed. Staff pleasant & apologetic but (sadly) ultimately incompetent.
