  A clean, well-equipped, spacious and comfortable apartment and a great base to explore the local area, with Holy Island, Alnwick and Seahouses all only a short drive away. Pintail is situated on the outskirts of Bamburgh in a quiet location, with private off-road parking, yet barely 5 minutes’ walk to the castle and beach and even closer to local cafés/tearooms and some great restaurants - we ate in the Lord Crewe, the Middle Inn (formerly the Castle Inn) and the Potted Lobster, all of them excellent. Communications regarding the booking and the apartment, both by phone and email, were very good - friendly and helpful and, unusually, all with the owner, Judith, personally – and the welcoming wine and chocolates were very much appreciated.

  The front door was open unless locked with the key, so we felt a second key should be provided for use when leaving the property separately
