Positive section of review
The room was clean and comfortable and despite being fairly close to major roads was very quiet. The food in the evening, whilst not being adventurous, was well cooked and good value. The staff were very good and welcoming. Location is good for both visiting Colchester (around 25 minutes drive to centre) and also good for easy access to the major road network.

The place does need a bit of TLC. For eg some wallpaper was peeling off in the room and the tables in the eating area are looking past their best. But this is minor stuff really. Breakfast options are a bit limited, especially if you are vegan.

The room was very quiet and just the right size, with a spacious shower and air conditioning that provided the right temperature and also pleasant white noise. The restaurant was amazing with delicious food, big kudos to all the members of staff who were super attentive, polite and making the whole experience even better.

Not many toiletries were provided and there was no way to switch the fan in the bathroom off, which is a bit annoying at night, if someone prefers silence to sleep.

Staff was friendly and even offered us an extra bed in the room without charging for my daughter. Room was clean with everything necessary for our stay. Location was great as close to the station as was as the city centre.

We had a shower which didnt worj and staff iffered no apology. We subsequently missed out dinner reservation. I had to have a full body was in the sink. It spoiled the visit.
