Positive section of review
The breakfast was excellent, both the free "continental" breakfast (which I had one day) and the English cooked breakfast (which I had on leaving). The place is owned and run by a lovely family. Had I stayed longer, they would probably have happily let me use my laptop in the breakfast room. I slept well. The shower was an excellent manipulable one, not one of those awful thing stuck to the wall that you can't move around. Nicer than the hotel chains. The on-street parking was entirely without problems.

The choice of food/beverage, etc is what the family has, plus somewhat more. If you want a 5-star hotel, you can get it somewhere else for 5-star prices. Bring your own cocoa powder or exotic health foods (though had I asked for cocoa, I don't know that they wouldn't have had it for me - It merely wasn't on display).

The apartment is in the rear of the building, and private parking was right by the door to the building. We had a van and there was plenty of space. The stairs are inside the building, and are not narrow or steep. We walked to ASDA to buy dinner and breakfast food. The oven heats quickly, so keep an eye on it. The owner met us at the building. He was easy to contact, answered all of our questions, and was very helpful. The shower had great water pressure and heated up quickly.

Morning traffic is a bit loud, but this was as we expected as it is a main street of the city. There is a cafe downstairs, and we couldn't hear them at all.

I really liked the listed building, the quality of the refurbishment and fit out with tasteful finishes. Also, the manageress has a really conscientious approach to all aspects of housekeeping and a real attention to detail. It's how all hotels should be but many fall short. The manageress is also very approachable and helpful with local knowledge and quickly attending to any issues raised.

Nothing really. There wad a minor issue with the air conditioning cassette which was reported to the manageress who said she would be attending to it as soon as I checked out.

There were no cooking pots in the apartment. I had to send a message to the managers who provided some not too good pots after I have gone to buy the one I used
