Beautiful classic hotel on the hill in Cork with nice view. Room was not that big but with extra high ceiling and the balcony, we felt it very spacious. I love the sauna at the gym.

We absolutely loved The Hayfield Manor! What an absolute gem we found in Cork. The grounds and hotel were beautiful. The staff was superb, the breakfast had many options to choose from, and the restaurants were excellent as well. We arrived late that evening, and they kept the restaurant open for us so we could eat. There was a piano in the lobby and someone was playing each night we were there. It was nice to sit and have a drink while listening to the music. The staff was helpful helping us plan our daily activities. The rooms were spotlessly clean as well.

FAQs about hotels in Cork

Irish Spirit In A Nutshell

Situated on the banks of the River Lee, Cork’s city center was originally built on marshes and many of its popular streets are constructed on the former river channels. With a thriving nightlife and a vibrant cultural scene, the Irish Republic’s second biggest city is full of surprises.

Those interested in history should pay a visit to the Cork City Gaol, an old prison transformed into one of the city’s most fascinating attractions, or join the Cork Historic Walking Tours, which have a great opportunity to learn all the city’s secrets.

For those craving more lively entertainment, the city has the famous Cork City Pub Crawl or even more exciting, the Barrack Street Challenge, where participants drink pints of beer in all bars along Barrack Street.

The shopping area is concentrated around the most famous street - St. Patrick Street. For local food specialities like crubeens, tripe and drisheen, browse bars and restaurants around MacCurtain, Washington and Oliver Plunkett Streets.

When flying to Cork Airport, you’re just a short taxi or bus ride from the lively city centre. Don’t worry about accommodations; Booking.com has plenty from convenient hotels, to cozy guesthouses and bed & breakfasts.

We loved staying in Cork - a vibrant city with an inclusive and welcoming vibe. We enjoyed local sites such as the English Market and Marina Market, stunning views from city parks, the vibrant and beautifully restored historic downtown, and learning about Irish history. We also appreciated proximity to day trips including Cobh and the stunningly beautiful Ring of Kerry. We would definitely return and had a fabulous experience in Cork!

    Beautiful places.

Beautiful places. We visited the observatory Blackrock castle, we didn't really like the museum, but the place itself looks very beautiful with access to the Celtic Sea. We also liked the University and the fort, as well as St. Fin Barre's Cathedral.

Loved our visit to Blarney Castle -- kissed the stone. :-) The city is a beautiful city and walkable. Lots of beautiful green spaces and very friendly people. The University College Cork is a restful oasis and the surrounding walkways are a lovely, quiet respite from the city pace. We didn't get a chance to see as much of the city as we would like but we will return!

Room was facing the River Lee which was nice though we were only on the first floor. We tried dinner at the hotel one night. It was just ok. Not great preparation or value for money. It is better to go out to the city centre. Breakfast was a large buffet spread and very sumptuous. Ample basement parking for free.

The public areas were lovely and modern, staff were very attentive and friendly. Location was a great bonus too, less than 10min walk into the city centre. Room was clean and housekeeping changed our towels and bedsheets for our 2nd night when we hung up the sign. We had lunch in the hotel and that was nice too.

I was visiting relatives in Cork and wanted to stay somewhere near city centre. I stayed in Metropole in 2022 so knew what to expect. Hotel is more expensive than other options but in my opinion represents good value. Breakfast is excellent with great view of River Lee - if you choose right table!
