FAQs about hotels in Cape Town

Cool, Colorful Cape

Between mountains and beaches, the 2nd largest city in South Africa mixes history, resilient modernity, and a typical laidback African character. From the top of Table Mountain to the colourful Bo Kaap quarter, and from the Victoria & Albert Waterfront to the modern business district, Cape Town blends multicultural influences and beautiful nature.

Known as Kaapstad in Afrikaans, its sunny weather and mild temperatures make it a perfect place to enjoy the large number of beaches that surround it. From Sunset Beach to Hout Bay, and from Simon’s Town to Gordon Bay, this city offers variety that suits all tastes. Whale and dolphin watching is a popular activity in False Bay.

Located on the Cape of Good Hope, the city was founded in 1652 by a Dutch trading company as a way-station for ships travelling to the East Indies. With the settlement process, all sorts of foreign plants were introduced, including the grapes in the famous Cape Winelands District, just outside of Cape Town.

Cape Town’s history does have some darker periods, and some of its memorable places from this time deserve to be visited: Robben Island jail, the City Hall from which Nelson Mandela gave his first public speech, and the statues of the 4 South African Nobel Peace Prize winners on the V&A Waterfront.

Easy parking and very cheap to use. Red hop on hop off bus tours to various outlaying districts and places is a must. Simply sensational. Our suite had the most unimaginable views of the the VA Waterfront and ocean. The suite itself had everything we could ever think to ask for and the Netflix and fast Wi-Fi were great. The hotels location is also incredible with dozens of eateries, coffee shops, convenience stores all with in 2 minutes walking distance. Great gym in the building as well (extra cost) as well as convenient grocery store on the ground floor and a lovely coffee shop as well. Luxury 5 star accommodation the way it should be done.

We had an amazing stay at Hotel Lola. Its set in a perfect location close to the V & A Waterfront. Russell and Alan are such amazing hosts, they made us feel like family. Nothing was too much for them and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The hotel itself is stunning with so many personal touches, it's refreshing to stay in a place that is not clinical like the big hotel chains. This is truly a gem and I will definitely book at Lola again

Location is beautiful. If you are from out of town and dont have a rental car, it could be a bit inconvenient as its around 10 minutes out of central Cape Town. There is a complimentary shuttle to the V&A waterfront hourly if im not mistaken which is useful. Uber and Bolt is available as well but it could get costly. The hotel also has a Thai restaurant attached which is nice.
