Very friendly host and staff. Very clean, nicely appointed room, pleasantly decorated. Fine location in the Golden Valley, close to the exceptional churches of Dore Abbey, Kilpeck and St Margarets, and within easy reach of Hereford and the Black Mountain. Good breakfast. Nice bar.

We stayed in the apartment for one night. Saturday 28th June. The Crown is an Inn that is 275 old. I has many original features. The ambience was very quirky. It’s in a rather remote area, very quiet and peaceful. It had a fridge, kettle, microwave cutlery and crockery. It was a very hot night but we had two fans to keep us cool. Breakfast was good with plenty of tea and coffee too. The owners were very pleasant, check in was very easy. Please support this local pub with accommodation. Places like this are hard to find.

Lovely period hotel with lots of character and an excellent location in Hereford, very close to the Cathedral. Payable parking is available at the back of the hotel across a road for which you can pay at a ticket machine inside the hotel. Our room was a good size, very clean and comfortable . The staff were friendly and breakfast was very good. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Everything was exactly as described and the breakfast was abundant and the service was attentive and sweet. Walking distance to a grocery store and many restaurant options was nice, and the town is beautiful.

    Hereford is a lovely place for a short stay.

    Hereford is a lovely place for a short stay. It is easy to walk around. There are some nice shops and great places to eat both at lunchtime and in the evening. The Cathedral was very interesting and there are some lovely period buildings nearby. A good base for touring around Hay on Wye, Ross on Wye and the Wye Valley.

    Lots of choice of shops and eating places suiting every budget. The cathedral well worth the visit however the signage for the cathedral was very poor and arrows in the town were pointing in the wrong direction completely. We commented this to someone who gave us the correct directions who replied "oh don't take any notice of the signs they're all wrong" this is very confusing for first time visitors!

    Lovely Cathedral. Too many people with tattoos. Some pubs that said they did real ale, they did not. Some good places to eat, a range of types and budgets. A lovely river and surrounding areas are a big plus.

    Larger city than expected and plenty to do, some parts are old and rundown and like most places these days the town has suffered due to lack off interest in shopping- internet generation! Roads are undergoing work so traffic is a problem but new restaurants and shopping area is modern and vibrant

    We spent a day and a half in Hereford city.

    We spent a day and a half in Hereford city. The standout is the Cathedral and the Mappa Mundi Museum, also the riverside with views of the abbey. We had an excursion to Ledbury which is very quaint and pretty and also a day at Hampton Court Castle, both of these are about a 30 mins drive from Hereford

    Our trip was to get a flavour of the place. Cathedral was the highlight. Mappa Mundi fantastic. A little disappointed with shopping area/ food outlets. Spent time looking for a good town centre pub where burger and chips etc weren’t the main options.

    Our welcome when we arrived was amazing we were offered tea or Coffee and then a lovely slice of Cake arrived we were shown to our room by Michael which was beautiful spotlessly clean and with everything we needed and the bed was very comfy A full English breakfast was served which was beautifully cooked and there were lots of other options to choose from Fresh fruit Cereal fruit juice etc was readily available in the breakfast room we loved this Hotel and would stay again whilst visiting Hereford again 5 star rating from us ☆☆☆☆☆

    The owner was really responsive and there was loads of choice at breakfast. The room was huge, comfortable and quiet, nice far reaching views of countryside to Hereford. Nice to support independent family owned hotel rather than chain. Novelty /humour of having a wall of mirrors opposite the toilet in the bathroom.

    Honestly one of the best hotels to stay in. Travel alone for work and feel safe, get a great nights sleep and a warm welcome. Breakfast is fantastic. Love the little touches such as a teapot in the room. Cannot fault this place and will always stay here if I'm in Hereford. Really is homely and comfortable.
