There was a snack basket with porridge and snacks and a mini fridge for milk and drinks. We were also received warmly by the staff. We arrived before the check-in time and were able to deposit our luggage with the reception and run off to the Seabird Centre to catch a boat ride out! The suite (2 beds) was also big enough for our family of 3 (1yo)!

    It's very easy to get to from Edinburgh Waverley station via...

    It's very easy to get to from Edinburgh Waverley station via train with only a 30 minute journey. The main High Street is just a 5-10 minute walk from the station, with West Beach just a few minutes beyond that. A lovely beach for a casual stroll on the sand with views of the small isles off the shore including Fidra, Lamb, South Dog, Craigleith and Bass Rock. There are plenty of eateries to choose from along the High Street. My friend and I dined at the Zanzibar Cafe which offered great food at reasonable prices. If travelling on a budget, there is a Co-op supermarket, Costa coffee and Greggs also on the High Street. For a finer dining experience, there are restaurants offering sea views along the point of West Beach near the Scottish Seabird Centre. Lodge Grounds is a good sized park within a short walking distance from the beachfront. Early August is Fringe by the Sea season and this was my first visit to North Berwick to attend a concert at FBTS. I enjoyed it so much that I hope to return next August. If small, laid-back seaside towns is your thing, I would recommend that you give North Berwick a visit. It can easily be enjoyed as a day trip from Edinburgh.

    Beautiful beaches. Great shops, restaurants and cafes. People were very friendly. Great boat trips to Isle of May, Bass Rock to see the amazing birds and wildlife. There was nothing we didn't like!

    North Berwick a lovely town with two sandy beaches, and boat trips to islands to see the sea birds. Seabird Centre is a bit expensive to go in but we did go in to see the camera's of the seabirds nesting - the puffin camera gave us really good views but the camera on gannet colony - the picture kept breaking up ?due to windy conditions. Handy for a trip into Edinburgh on the train. Lovely shopping centre with smaller shops to browse round.

    Quite a pleasant seaside town/harbour which I'm sure will be able to fill a day or more if you are there in the sunny weather - it was February when we were here and it was a tad chilly! Lots of interesting shops on the high street and places to eat too.

    Lovely beaches..from west beach to Seacliff. Lots as of eating places .. Lobster Shack ; Herringbone; Bostock ; the Drift etc. Beautiful Shops . Mueseums .. Blackadder church .. Can’t say enough great things about North Berwick. We are retired and older but everywhere was accessible.

    North Berwick has all facilities one could want including...

    North Berwick has all facilities one could want including independent shops, supermarkets, coffee shops and petrol stations. The Rocketeer Restaurant serves excellent seafood and the staff are very welcoming. Our dog was allowed in and given water and treats. Steampunk Coffee serves excellent coffee! The walk up The Law is worth the views and the Scottish Seabird Centre is interesting and has a good cafe, though we didn't eat there on this occasion.

    Lovely cosy property in a great location to enjoy the town and beach within a 5 minute walk. So comfortable, spacious and well equipped with all that you would need. Frank is a great host who is very responsive and thoughtful to guests. A perfect property for our family trip away. No problem with parking - plenty on street availability and there are car parks within walking distance if preferred. We have enjoyed many breaks in North Berwick and are glad to have found this one for our future trips.
