Although on the A6, Shap is now relatively quiet due to the M6 by-passing it. This means it has more a country village feel about it and if the weather is good, sitting outside one of the local pubs sipping a pint is very pleasurable. Lovely views squirrels in the woods nice place to relax and staff were so friendly and made you feel relaxed. Shap is a small village so nothing of interest but at the weekends you can see the steam train going through.
