Located on the Cape of Good Hope, the city was founded in 1652 by a Dutch trading company as a way-station for ships travelling to the East Indies. With the settlement process, all sorts of foreign plants were introduced, including the grapes in the famous Cape Winelands District, just outside of Cape Town.
Cape Town’s history does have some darker periods, and some of its memorable places from this time deserve to be visited: Robben Island jail, the City Hall from which Nelson Mandela gave his first public speech, and the statues of the 4 South African Nobel Peace Prize winners on the V&A Waterfront.

we absolutely loved the food/ the wine/ the views and trips around Cape Town. We booked visits via the Red Bus tour and yes, it might be a bit of a cliché but it was so cool. many things to so with kids as well. we had a great week. our apartment was located between the water front and Long St which allowed us to do a lot on foot. booking a uber was very complicated so if we really needed it, we took a taxi (very nice guy named Coffee +27724003680). highly recommended place to visitGuest review bySandrine - 10.0

Food, Food, glorious Food!! A GEM with some of the best restaurants in SA.... and maybe the world!! South Africans can dish up a FLAVA SENSATION!! Sitting in a magnificent bar, sipping a spicy Mojito whilst overlooking the coast, crashing waves and a sunset exploding with colour. Loved the scenic view from Table Mountain, I rode the cable car up bc I had fallen off the cool runnings toboggan ride bc I leaned to hard (lol) sprained my ankle so no hiking for me this round, although I look forward to seeing the beautiful waterfalls soon. The food was also very very good. Ubers are very affordable and easy to use. I highly suggest using an Uber. I ate at Ashley’s the food was very good. Also the retired owner of Ulla’s Pizza cooked for me it was very very delicious sorry guys unless you look him up and request private service he is unavailable. N1 city was very nice to shop at. I suggest the Cool Runnings ride just don’t act like your trying out for a part of the team and you will do fine. Walking the beach was nice but keep in mind I was there in the heart of winter so it rained a bit while I was there. The lions were awesome too!!!!Guest review by`MoonyStar` - 10.0

Great city, the way it is situated it is rightfully considered as one of the most beautiful of the world. Unfortunately, the shopping area around Green Market has deteriorated significantly. Probably in part an aftermath of the 2020-22 travel restrictions, plus the competition of online and malls. But the V&A Wharf and all the area around is just great. Steeped in history embraced by Table Mountain, Lions Head Signal Hill and the 12 apostles, 2 oceans to choose to swim in, laced with pearly white beaches and craggy coastline. World famous restaurants and accommodations, choice of transportation, Uber, bus, trains, electric cycles, bicycles. Cable car to the top of the iconic Table Mountain, and walk down through world famous Kirstenbosch Gardens. Take the day to visit wine farms a mere hour out of town on well maintained motorways.
